“Are you sure?” She tried again, her hand tightening on my arm. “I’ll let you do anything you want. Kinks, fetishes, I’m down for anything.”
This girl really had no idea what she was offering. The thought of touching her turned me off. I’d done my share of sleeping around, but the only woman I wanted to defile with my cock was Clover. I wasn’t sure how I felt about that.
“Keep asking around.” I motioned to a table of guys sitting in the cafeteria. “I’m sure someone will take you up on the offer. I’ve got to run.”
Prying her fingers off my arm, I ignored her efforts to keep me talking. I exited the building on the other side of the cafeteria and headed toward the parking lot where I’d left my car. I chuckled to myself, shaking my head at the thought of taking money for a sex tape. Was that the kind of shit people said about us? Fucking incredible.
As I crossed through the parking lot, I came across what appeared to be a drug deal. Havoc Alexander stood next to a black sedan, passing something through the window to the person inside. A moment later, a wad of cash was pressed into his palm.
I jerked to a stop. “Well, what do we have here? Looks to me like some illegal shenanigans.”
I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to mess with Havoc. Our problems with the Gods would likely never end. Not as long as we were always ready and willing to fuck with each other. I didn’t doubt that one day it would all end in a bloody showdown. A final confrontation.
Havoc’s head snapped in my direction. Shoving the cash into his pocket, he said, “Get the fuck out of here, Bixby. What are you doing here anyway? Better not be hassling Clover.”
Ah, so Raina had been running her mouth about us and Clover. If the Gods and their Goddess knew what was good for them, they’d stay the hell out of it.
“I don’t think that’s any of your damn business.” I eyed the driver of the car who quickly pulled away, speeding from the lot. “Better watch yourself, Havoc. We fuck up guys like you who prey on the weakness of others. The law may never catch you, but we will.”
“Oh yeah?” Havoc sauntered over to me, his expression stone cold. “Do you say that shit to your own dealer? You know they get their supply from me, right? Jesus, you guys are goddamn hypocrites. I’m starting to think you’re trying to find reasons to keep taking shots at us.”
He had me there. I had to laugh. “That’s fair. We do enjoy fucking with you guys. You’ve got to admit, part of you enjoys it too. Gotta keep life interesting, you know. Still, you guys might want to watch your backs, especially if you try interfering with Clover because of Raina.”
Havoc’s fist clenched. “You keep Raina’s name out of your fucking mouth. You guys are lucky to be alive after what you did to her. We won’t let you do that to Clover. She’s like a sister to Raina. If she needs us, we’ll step in.”
“I don’t think so.” Shaking my head, I stepped forward, bringing us almost chest to chest. “Clover is ours now. She made an unbreakable deal. Raina will have to learn to live with that.”
I knew he was going to hit me before he did. I was ready for the fist that connected with my jaw. Part of me enjoyed the pain. The rush of violence. A good brawl every now and then was fuel for the soul.
“My turn,” I hissed, punching Havoc in the nose.
He jerked back with a stream of obscenities. After swiping a hand under his nose to check for blood, he came at me again. I tried to dodge the blow. Anticipating my move, Havoc caught me with a left hook that sent me stumbling backward.
“We’ve put up with enough shit from you guys,” Havoc snarled. “Are you looking for a war?”
The breath whooshed out of me as he tackled me to the ground. I blocked an elbow to the face, following up with a punch that snapped his head to the side. I got in another one that seemed to momentarily stun him.
“Not at all,” I said, grunting as he hit my temple. “But maybe it’s inevitable.”
I reached for his throat, intending to choke him out. An angry voice rang out, breaking through the haze.
“Excuse me, gentlemen! Split it up right this second before I call the police.”
We froze mid-fight to find a professor looming over us. He must have just finished teaching for the day. Not messing around, he pulled out his phone and started to punch numbers.
Havoc and I scrambled apart, each getting to our feet. Without another word, Havoc got into his car and peeled away with a squeal of tires. I sauntered along to my own car, grinning to myself.
Raina and the Gods could be pissed about our claiming of Clover. They weren’t going to do a damn thing to keep us away from her.
CHAPTER SIXTEEN
CLOVER
“I’ll pick you up at eight. Don’t wear any underwear.” Blaze’s voice was smooth and commanding through the phone.
He hung up, leaving me standing in my bathroom with heat building between my legs. He’d called as I stepped out of the shower to tell me that they wanted to show me something tonight. I couldn’t help but be wary and suspicious. His direct order to go commando left me feeling both apprehensive and excited.
As I applied a teal blue eyeshadow and black liner, I had a hard time meeting my own gaze in the mirror. I was ashamed of my reaction to Blaze’s command. He did something to me that I struggled to accept. The Angels scared the crap out of me…and it turned me on like crazy.
