“Should I worry?”

She grinned; she just couldn’t help it. Now the emperor looked nervous. “We should go now since we’re done eating.” Someone had even taken their empty plates away while they were distracted.

“Okay, I guess I’ll escort you to your door. Then I must go.”

They got up and he led the way to her rooms which weren’t far. She had an office near her bedroom and that was where she worked out of for the most part. In a month, she would be headed back to Earth for the next group. Their applications had been taken and the people in the office she’d left behind on Earth would select the next group using the system she’d set up before she’d left.

Torr left and she reflected on what had just happened. She’d been glad to see her mom. Of all the girls, she looked the most like her. They’d teased her when she was little about looking just like her mom. That hadn’t bothered her a bit. Her family had meant everything to her. It had been hard on her to stay behind, but finally she’d decided to go as soon as she had her residency concluded.

In the end, it had been an easy choice. Her family was the most important thing in the world to her. Besides, things weren’t as good as she’s hoped for at the hospital. Now she had to carve out her spot here and it wouldn’t be easy. Torr would be in the middle of this program and therefore her life. Why someone with all his responsibilities would waste so much time on her, she could only guess. She didn’t like where her guesses were going.

Now it was time to get to work. She was making calls including her mom who she should have spoke to while she was with her in person. “Kitty? Is that you?”

“Yes, Mom.”

“Is something wrong?”

“Not at all. I was distracted and forgot to talk to you. I have some people that need jobs. Can I send them to you? I also need a PA if you can find me a good one. One more thing, I have a lady with a problem son that has anxiety attacks and I hoped the family would pull together to help her.”

“Of course, you can send me people looking for a job and we’ll help your lady all we can.”

They spoke for a bit longer covering all the usual family things. She’d come from Earth to Draconis and still didn’t have much more time with her family than when she’d been in med school. It would get better; she’d make sure it did. Family was too important not to get things to work out the way she’d planned it.

Working hard on her plans, it was lunch time before she knew it. She headed to the cafeteria and was surprised to see Tomi there again. “Hey Sis. What’s up with you being here all the time?”

“Mom is coming with a potential PA for you and two cooks for me.” Tomi replied.

“When will she be here?”

“Anytime. She had to go pick them up. The cooks may live here if they get the jobs. Don’t know much about your PA. There’s Mom!”

Dori had just stepped inside the door. Two ladies and a handsome male followed her. Males here rarely worked in the kitchen much less cooked. Males did work as PAs, both the king and the emperor had a male PA. Working with such a hottie would be distracting, she thought.

“There you are, Girls. I’ve brought you both some helpers.” Their mom explained.

“Sally and Nancy are for you, Tomi, and Earlist is for you, Kitty.” She observed.

“Thanks, Mom.” They replied together.

“I have to go so I’ll leave you two to it.” She said as she left.

“Well, alrighty.” Tomi declared. “You ladies will be working over here.” Tomi led them to the kitchen leaving her with Earlist.

“Your mom said you have a name like mine on your world, Earl. You may call me that if you wish.” Earl said with a big grin. “I am excited to be working with you.”

“I’m excited too. I’ve needed the help badly. Follow me and we’ll go to the office. There I can explain to you exactly what we need to do.”

“Lead the way.”

Earl followed her to her rooms and into the office. There was a small office that may have been a walk-in closet next to the office she had setup. A desk, chair, and small table were already set up for him. “Here’s a list of what I need. Do you need any help getting this done?” She asked.

“No, I have experience as a personal assistant already. I’ll get right on this.”

“Thank you. You have no idea how much this will help me.”

She felt like weight was off her shoulders now that she had help. Now she could work harder on improving the program and assist those who had trouble adjusting to this new world. Since her cousin Davy discovered this world after she mated a male from here, life had changed. Now she was part of the changing process. Many people from Earth would be coming here and their whole life would change, hopefully for the better.

After working very hard for hours, she realized it was supper time. Earl had left two hours ago, and she walked down the hall alone. “There you are. I feared you would miss supper.
