“There’s little else to be done until you know more.”

“All the ships are on their way to Draconis now, so we’ll see what happens.”

“This attack lost them half their ships and all the bounty on board.” Kitty observed. “I would think they would either have a better plan or find another way to make money.”

“Maybe we just attracted the stupid pirates.” He guessed.

“They certainly had no idea what they were doing when they attacked.”

“We were lucky they didn’t. Things didn’t work out well for them and only one ship ended up getting away.”

“You caught one of the two that ran?” Kitty asked.

“Yes, when they came back to attack.”

“That’s great. You’ll have five ships.”

“Yes, but the things on them are where the value is.”

“I can believe that when the ships were damaged by the fight.”

“It’s true, but their bays were overflowing with goods.”

“In other words, except for when they attacked you, they were successful pirates.” Kitty observed.

“Exactly. If they are the best pirates around, their loss may discourage others.”

“I would think so. Now what do we do?”

“We’ll head to Draconis at full speed and the others will follow as fast as they can.” He explained.

“When we arrive at Draconis, can I have a tour of the other ships? I’m curious.”

“Of course, you can. Niku and Garulto are planning to tour as well.”

“They are looking for evidence?”

“They are and I hope they find something that was missed.”

“People look for different things so it’s possible.” Kitty pointed out. “I think it’s breakfast time.”

They headed to the dining room and he hoped they would have more mature people at their table today. Too much was going on to be bombarded with conversation. Luckily it was a quiet breakfast. Maybe they were figuring things out on their own by reading their units and exploring on their computers.

The meals weren’t bad, but he was getting tired of nothing but communal meals. He wanted more time with Kitty alone. With the ship going full speed ahead on the most direct route, they should arrive in two days. It wouldn’t be soon enough. He’d kept up on his paperwork and tried to keep up with what was going on at home, but he’d been away long enough.

As safe as he knew the ship to be, it was still out here in space all alone as it headed home. Once they arrived, he would assign extra guards to her because he now knew others were after her. If he lost her, he would go crazy. She was his one, he knew without a doubt.

The next morning it was announced that they would arrive the next day. It would be a great relief when they finally made it back. Everyone would be dispersed around Draconis based on what they wanted to do, and Kitty would get to work on the next list of people while she attempted to help these settle in.

His work would begin in finding the terrible traitors that had turned on him and he would have teams work on the ships as they came in. He was anxious to begin. Kitty and he had been growing closer, but he feared she was not ready to commit yet.

“Ready to go to bed?” He asked.

“Yes, I’m very tired.”

“Is sleep all you’re looking for?”

“I might be convinced to fool around.”

“And what could I do to convince you?” He asked as he dropped a kiss on her lips.

“It wouldn’t take much, Baby.”

Torr began kissing his mate from her lips down to her breasts. She moaned as he sucked a nipple into his mouth before he moved to the other one. Kitty was heating up and he could scent her desire. As his mate was in bed naked, he worked his way down to the crux of her thighs. Her legs spread to welcome him between them.

His tongue took a taste and he loved the spicy sweetness of her honey. His finger drilled into her channel as his tongue worked on her little nubbin. His mate was going crazy as her release waited for her on a razor’s edge. Just a little faster and he set her off.

Quickly he slid up her body and sank his length deep inside her. Her channel grasped him encouraging him to drive into her. Gods, this felt amazing. Faster and faster, he felt almost dizzy as her climax exploded around him and his release burst out of him.

They pressed against each other as they breathed heavy and their hearts beat like crazy. Once he calmed, he rolled them over and held her in place on top of him. Sleep claimed them and he knew it would be a deep restful sleep.
