“You’ll keep him for a while right now when you need him most. You know that I have planned to move up some males to be Colonels. Right now, there are few with experience that are near that rank. You’ll likely get Romo for a little while. He’ll serve as a go between, but he’ll also assist you. He’ll not be staying either. All of us will have to give up males that do a good job to aid this cause. Some Earthers will be starting at lower ranks but likely moving up as well. I’ll be having meetings to discuss the new plans. Do your best and you’ll be getting people soon. Maybe as early as tomorrow.”

“Thank you, my liege.”

They said their goodbyes and hung up. It was odd dealing with others in this new rank. He would adjust, that was all.

The next morning breakfast was good, and Dori caught him up on her list. “I got all the families out of the dungeon. Several females are out too. Today, I’ll start on the single males. I hope to put those that stay straight in jobs.”

“I hope that works out too. We need so much help. Torr will be sending us some as well.” He admitted.

“He’s such a good young male.”

Garulto smothered his chuckle. Torr was many years older than his Dori. Even if he didn’t look it. When he thought about it, Dori and her girls, including Cretia and Davy, had done well. Two kings and the emperor, not to mention several officers on their way up. Soon Niku would be the general of Draconis. Romo would be a colonel. He suspected Jarel would be a lieutenant and Davy might be one too.

“What are you thinking about, my mate?” Dori asked.

“Just how high all our sons are going.”

“I hope they don’t end up in danger or far away.”

“Romo’s brother went way, but he may be back soon. Progress is fast right now. They must take it or be left behind.”

“You took it. Do you regret it?” Dori asked.

“Not since you are at my side.” He admitted.
