“My gods, that was hot.”
“Especially for them.”
She gently thudded me on the back in reprimand. We swooped around, picking off monsters attacking humans until most of the monsters were either dead or had run off to whatever futures lay in front of them. We’d noticed a group of humans at the lake, and I swept down next to them, send a wave of dust in the air.
My Sunbeam leapt off me and ran to hug everyone. A redhead arrived not long after us.
“What now?” said a dark-haired woman leaning against an orc.
“I know a place. A monster safe, independent village,” said my Sunbeam.
She gave everyone directions as quickly as she could.
“We’ll fly ahead and clear the way for you and make sure you stay on track.”
She clambered back on me, and I launched us back in the air. We moved ahead of the group. Scanning for any obvious trouble that we might get caught up in. After an hour or so I could hear my Sunbeam yawing. Without a word, I found a patch of grassland and brought us down.
“Sleep for a while, my love. The others have stopped to set up a camp a little way behind us.”
“Oh, no. What about you? If anyone should be resting it’s you.”
“I’m nearly good as new.”
She slid down to the ground and examined my wound.
“It’s nearly healed.”
Her voice was incredulous.
“I’m a dragon.”
She peppered my face with kisses.
“Sleep, Sunbeam. And then I will.”
I lay down, curling around her and she snuggled down against me. Within moments, she was snoring gently. I watched her sleep with amazement. We’d made it. And this beautiful, stunning woman was mine.
Chapter 15
Lyla
When we’d both slept, I climbed back on Falkon, and he leapt into the air again. The power of his wings was incredible. There was no feeling like soaring through the sky, and I whooped as we dove and climbed. I was wedged between two of the large ridges that stuck up along his back. I’d had to adjust my skirt and now that the fear of the escape had subsided, I was starting to feel the rubbing of the thick ridge in front of me on my clit.
I tried to clear my head and not think about it. But his sense of smell was too good.
“Sunbeam, are you getting aroused up there?”
I felt a flush run up my neck and face.
“Well, yes, this spike is sort of rubbing. Sorry, is that inappropriate?”
A growl left his throat.
“With us? Never.”
He swept down and back up again, and the movement caused more rubbing.
“Are you doing it on purpose now?”
