“That feels amazing,” he said.

“You know, my neck is a bit sore also,” Liam said.

“Shut up,” Donovan said, leaning his head back to smile at me. “All he does is work in a bar.”

“But you two will be owners soon, right?”

They both froze.

“Something wrong?”

“Not really wrong, just we likely can’t get the financing,” Liam finally said.

My timer went off. No one said anything while I pulled out the lasagna.

“How much do you need?”

“When I imagined discussing finances with a woman I’m serious about, I thought we’d be talking about getting a place together,” Donovan said.

I put set the pan down in the center of the kitchen table on a trivet I’d readied. “I’m serious about you guys too. I don’t even know how all the bedroom stuff works with three people.”

We all laughed, and the tension was broken.

“We’ve always said we want to go slow,” Liam said.

“But what if I want to go faster?”

Donovan took my hand and kissed it. “We have time.”

I knew I might have to go to Kentucky again in a couple of weeks, and he would likely have to travel, too. But I knew what they meant.

“We mean this to last a very long time.” Liam said what I was thinking.

“I have ice cream, too,” I said a while later, as Liam finished his third helping of lasagna.

“You made this bread, too?” Donovan grabbed the last piece of it.

“A mix,” I said, “but yes.”

I’d offered wine, but none of us had more than a glass. I wanted to keep a clear head, and it was obvious they did, too.

“Let’s sit in the living room for a bit,” I said, after they helped me clean up. I’d given them the tour while we waited for the lasagna to cool. “Do you want to watch a movie?”

They sat on either side of me, each taking a hand.

“If you do, we can,” Liam said. “My sisters trained me to like rom-coms.”

“I don’t always like those,” I teased. “Do you all like crime dramas?”

We settled on Field of Dreams. “Of course we’re choosing a baseball movie. I haven’t seen this in ages,” I said. “I love it but want to hear more about the financing issue with the team. Are there any options?”

As Liam told me about how he might have to get another mortgage or sell his family’s building, I started thinking.

“That sounds like a hard decision. Are there any other options?”

Donovan pulled me against him. “We were up half of last night trying to figure it. But we didn’t want to be too tired for this date.”

Both men were attractive, with Donovan’s light brown hair and strong jawline, and Liam’s long hair I loved to touch. But what really turned me on was their kindness, their humor, their thoughtfulness. I still wanted to jump them.
