“Do I have to be nice to them?” She asked the question with a little grit in her voice making me think she had an ulterior motive for asking the question.

“You shouldn’t go out of your way to be bitchy to them. They’re a part of the club in their own way. If one is nasty to you, that’s a different story. Put her in her place.”

“Okay.” Aubrey seemed almost giddy at the prospect of doing just that. It set me on edge for the rest of the short drive to the clubhouse. We had to pass by the S.H.E. Compound on the way, and I couldn’t help glancing over to see if I could spot her. That was when I noticed that Aubrey had a very visceral sneer on her own face as we passed the club. She didn’t vocalize her disdain for them, and I didn’t ask.

“Do you want another drink?” We made it to the club a few minutes earlier and I couldn’t’ shake the way Aubrey had glared at the girls’ club. Maybe that was the reason her voice grated on my nerves, like someone had scraped sandpaper across my insides. Instead of answering, I just shook my head. I still hadn’t bothered to down the last shot she ordered for us. The woman grinned and then leaned in to kiss me. I didn’t turn away, but also didn’t add anything to the meeting of our mouths despite hers parting and hoping for more as she ran her tongue over my lips.

The front door opening drew my attention from Aubrey as we watched Angel Girl, Keys, and Tash enter. Aubrey’s spine stiffened notably and she grabbed my arm hard enough that I felt her nails digging in. She turned and planted another kiss on my mouth, claiming me in front of the other women. There was no other way to explain what she had just done.

We were not the couple who kissed in public, or even an official couple at that point. So, the way she went at me, like I was hers and she was marking territory rubbed me wrong. Then Aubrey leaned in, as if she were about to tell me something private, only her tone was full of bitchiness and her voice was loud enough that the people around us heard every word of what she said.

“I’m going to the bathroom. If they’re still here when I get back, then we need to leave.”

My eyes widened as I peered over her shoulder to see that Sweet had heard and was frowning at her retreating form as she headed toward the bathrooms.

Keys and the other women had been in close enough proximity to hear what Aubrey had said too. “Darn shame quality pussy is so hard to find,” the infuriating woman commented before wandering off toward the air hockey table.

Sweet shook his head and laughed at my expense. “Safe to say you never actually straightened that mess out, huh?”

“Not like she’s given me a chance to do it, and if you recall, you didn’t help things along either.” I grumbled as I turned and continued to watch Keys.

“What you need to straighten out is your diner bitch,” Angel Girl said, proving the women of S.H.E knew exactly who she was since they knew where she worked.

It didn’t take long for Aubrey to get back, and she didn’t miss what Angel Girl had to say. “You have something to say, sweetie?” Aubrey all but hissed the question at Angel Girl. It was glaringly obvious the women had no love for one another, but the venom in her tone was unexpected.

“Nope.” Angel Girl answered her succinctly. “You’re not worth my time.” With that said, both she and Tash walked off toward Keys while Sweet joined them.

Aubrey didn’t even try to hide that she was seething mad. “I thought they had their own club? Why are they here?”

“They’re here because Sweet and Angel Girl are together,” I started to explain before she interrupted me.

“I don’t know what he sees in that nasty little cunt.”

I moved in a flash and had her pinned none-to-gently to the bar before she could blink. “Angel Girl happens to be my sister. Not an MC brotherhood/sisterhood type, but my actual sister. As in: we bathed together as children, played in the sandbox, and became best friends along the way too.

“You already fucked up when you made demands that they not be here when you got back, but if you ever talk shit about my sister again, I will turn her loose on you in a heartbeat since I don’t beat women. And Angel Girl can give me a run for my money in the ring, darlin’.”

“I-I didn’t know,” she sputtered.

“Well, you do now.” I tipped my head toward the door. “Now get the fuck out!” The words flew out of my mouth with such purpose that I wouldn’t have been surprised if they did physical damage.

“You drove me here,” she whined.

“Then have someone else pick you up or walk back, but you are no longer welcome here. Not for me, and not with anyone else from this club either.”

Aubrey started crying. “I didn’t know.” She blubbered her excuse out as she attempted to reach for me again, but I stepped back and called a prospect over to me. “Walker, get her the fuck out of here. And no rides for her from any of the brothers.”

“Harsh,” he muttered. The man listened though because he was still on probation with us, so he did as he was told and took Aubrey by the arm. She cried the whole way. It didn’t make me feel bad in the least, if that had been her intention.

I didn’t miss the fact that Keys sported a look of satisfaction on her face, lips tipped up in a smirk, eyes alight with mischievous delight as she stood there sipping a drink and discussing who was up first on the Air Hockey table. I thought about going over there and demanding time with her, even if it was just to play a round. I turned and grabbed a shot of whiskey instead.

Chapter 13

“I wonder what she said to trigger him?” Tash asked.

“Must have been serious to get that reaction,” Angel Girl stated with worry clear in her eyes. Sweet nodded his head in agreement.
