“I feel like I’m intruding.” I grumble, rocking Leo as I shoot dirty looks at Jared.
“You are.” He says, earning a smack from Luna for it.
“We’ve got a problem,” I finally say, holding my phone out for them to take.
“Who sent this?” Jared asks, staring at my phone.
“Give back what was never yours in the first place or lose everything?” Luna reads out loud, shaking her head at the message.
“I don’t know, but Nina is missing. She disappeared two days ago, right after I got this message. I need help.” I admit, my voice breaking as I lock eyes with Leo. He peers up at me with untainted innocence, but even I know he misses his mother. Jared stands, clapping a hand on my shoulder as he pulls his phone out.
“Let me call Alec and Markus. We’ll help you find her and figure out what’s going on.” He says, stepping from the room as he presses his phone to his ear. I blow out a breath that I had been holding, afraid that he would turn me away or accuse Nina of leaving. Luna stands, pacing the floor as she bites her lip.
“Lunatic,” Jared calls from the other room, peering in to point at her in warning. She sticks her tongue out, but I notice she stopped biting her lip.
“Are you happy?” I ask her, catching my sister off guard. She stalls, looking at me then back to where Jared has disappeared.
“I’ve never been happier,” She says with strength and confidence.
“I’m glad you two worked everything out. He’s good for you.” The admission comes easy and Luna gives me a bright grin.
“Before we do anything, you need a shower and a nap. Let us take care of Leo. You’ll be useless if you fall over from exhaustion and you get really bitchy when you’re tired.” She says. I shoot her an angry glare, only proving her point when Jared rejoins us.
“She’s right, Alec and Markus will be joining us later on. Take the spare room, don’t touch my fucking soap.” He huffs, stopping to murmur something in Luna’s ear that makes her blush fiercely as she takes Leo once again.
“Don’t threaten to breed me while my brother is listening,” she hisses.
“I didn’t hear a word he said, but thank you for lining my therapist's pockets. You’re both sick,” I stomp towards the stairs, ready to be away from the two of them.
Chapter eight
Nina
Five days of being trapped here, and I am already losing strength and resolve to escape. David stands in front of the bed where I am sitting with a twisted look of pride in his eyes as he throws the lacy scrap into my lap. I had tried to shower, with Olivia guarding the door, but David’s guards had told him immediately.
“I told you, if you want a shower, you’ll earn it. Those are the clothes you’ll be wearing when you get out.” He shrugs as if it’s an easy decision. I neatly fold the clothes and lay them on the bed, trying not to anger him.
“I’ll be fine,” I say. David sighs, stepping close and snatching me by the throat as he rips me off the bed and throws my already sore body to the ground. My shoulder takes the brunt of the impact and I’m unable to stop the soft cry that escapes. I notice the same guard from earlier steps in front of Olivia, almost as if he’s protecting her. The plans that I had been forming changed drastically when I realized that he was infatuated with my sister. We would use it to our advantage when the time came to get her out of here.
David isn’t going to let her leave, I know better than to trust his lies even if we have been apart all these years. I try to keep my calm, not wanting to let him enjoy my suffering more than I have to. David wrenches me up by my elbow, throwing me towards the bathroom without any care. Olivia leaps forward and catches me before I fall a second time, and I hold her tight out of fear he might retaliate against her.
David kicks my chain, nodding to the guard that has a soft spot for Olivia.
“Percy, unlock her. She isn't going to shut the door, and I want you to keep watch.” He demands, glancing over his shoulder to smile at me as he leaves the room. Percy blows out a breath, brushing his hand through his blue hair.
“You heard the boss. I’ll turn my back to give you privacy, but don’t make me regret it. The window is sealed shut.” Percy warns me as he gently uncuffs my ankle and massages the tender skin.
“I wouldn’t leave without my sister.” I tip my head to Olivia before walking into the bathroom. True to his word, Percy stands with his back to me and starts a conversation with Olivia.
“David will send you home in no time, sunshine.” he reaches forward, brushing away a strand of hair from her eyes. I quickly shed my clothes and pull the glass shower door shut, before David sends in a guard that isn’t as considerate as this one. My breasts ache, the tightness within them becoming unbearable as I massage and try to squeeze all the excess milk out. My sweet little Leo, this is just another reminder. Every morning I wake up with my shirt soaked and stuck to me, and my breasts throbbing. I feel like that alone has been a deterrent for David to keep his hands off of me, but it wouldn’t last.
Even with hot water bursting across my skin, I still feel frozen. Every single toiletry is the exact kind I have at home. David has been watching me for so long, and none of us ever noticed. The idea makes my empty stomach churn and I cover my mouth, slowly kneeling on the floor as I let my despair drag me under.
I don’t give myself very long, finishing up and stepping out to grab the plush towel waiting for me. Percy awkwardly hands me a bundle of clothes, and I can’t find my old ones anywhere. Olivia is curled up on her couch, snoring softly.
“Boss demanded the old clothes be destroyed. He said you’ll be given proper attire, though.” His voice isn’t reassuring and he won't look me in the eye. The proper attire is a skin tight dress that will barely cover my ass, no show panties and no bra. I curse under my breath as I dress, my patience reaching its limit.
“Nina?” Olivia’s sleepy voice pulls me back to the room as she yawns, stretching her arms above her head. I notice a second pile of clothes, breathing a sigh when I notice her dress is longer and she’s been giving real undergarments.
