“I want to go home. My real home. On my planet. If I return, will I be able to live there again?” Vya asked directly, giving him no chance to lie through evasion.

The Oebri glanced down, likely searching for her information.

“Vya Chu. I see that your parents reported your disappearance. They are waiting for news of your return.” When he looked up, his gaze was filled with hunger. “Tell me where you are, and I will retrieve you.”

“I did not ask for you to come get me. I asked if I’ll be allowed to live on Earth again if I return.”

“That is not something I can answer. However, I can escort you to the Senwar station, and we can discuss it with those on the station who can answer it.”

“No, thank you,” she said. “I will find my own way home.”

“Beauty, I can provide you with seven systems dresses more intricate than the one you now wear. You will never want for anything. I will worship you in ways you’ve never?—”

The Oebri disappeared.

Vya turned and wrapped her arms around me.

“You were right,” she said softly. “I could feel him. The desire and the need.”

She shook her head, rubbing her face against my covering. Behind her, the male withdrew from S’doifu’s mouth and turned the pleasure male around.

I picked Vya up, and she surprised me by wrapping her legs around my waist. My hand immediately went to support her rounded flank. I felt her breath catch and inhaled the heavy scent of her arousal.

The male eased his shaft into S’doifu’s backside. The pleasure male groaned and arched.

“Would you care to return to my gardens to calm her?” Mtinash asked, understanding in his gaze as he stared at my hand.

“I believe Vya would feel more comfortable if we returned to our ship.”

Mtinash smiled, but there was no warmth in it. “Do you believe she belongs to you?”

“In return for your help obtaining the translator, I will share the location of the void station where I saw another human female,” I said. “She wore a systems’ dress and was protected by a group of station males. I don’t believe she is there by choice, which is why I reported her presence to the nearest Helix station. However, we both know they’re unlikely to send their own to a void station. She was likely taken by whoever they sent. I will send the void station’s coordinates from my ship.”

Mtinash stared at me for several prexels then nodded once.

“How much chit do you want for the translator?” I asked.

He sighed heavily and waved away the offer. “It is my pleasure to provide for a female. I only hope she remembers me in the future.”

Vya lifted her head and glanced back at Mtinash. She squeaked when she saw S’doifu being pleasure-mated and quickly hid her face against my neck again.

Mtinash glanced at S’doifu, and his friend then motioned us to the exit. It seemed that public breeding truly did shock Vya.

With Mtinash’s escort, we made our way to the ship while I caressed Vya’s flank and listened to her breathing grow more erratic.

“If you wish to breed before you leave, I can show you to?—”

“No,” Vya said quickly.

Mtinash’s hungry gaze slid over her side.

“You are a light-blessed tuber,” he said under his breath to me. “I would give everything I’ve gained to have a female cling to me the way she clings to you.”

I brushed a soothing hand down her back and tried not to feel the way her sheath rubbed my weeping ambal.

“If you’re unable to return to your homeworld, Vya, I hope you’ll choose to grace my paradise with your presence again,” Mtinash said when we stopped in the docking bay.

Vya nodded without looking up. I glanced at the supplies waiting outside the ship and nodded to my friend.
