“I know.”
“I need a fucking scotch.” Simon walked away and headed to the bar.
While the rest of the family processed what I told them, I sat beside Graham.
“I’m sorry.” He hooked his arm around me.
“I appreciate it.” I lay my head on his shoulder.
Riley ran over and sat across from us. “Ella, I’m worried about my wedding. What if she?—”
I reached over and gripped her hands. “She’ll be fine.”
I glanced at Sam, Stefan, Sebastian, Simon, and Shaun talking in the corner.
“Excuse me for a minute,” I said to Graham and Riley.
Walking over to the boys, I hooked my arm around Simon.
“Life is family, and family is life. The best thing we can do is be there for her, and when she has an episode, we need to help her get through it.”
“I couldn’t agree more.” Jackson walked over.
CHAPTER 22
Graham
After the party ended, I followed Ella home. She told me to make myself comfortable in her house while she went and checked on her grandmother. I opened the refrigerator and grabbed a beer. The sliding door opened, and Christian walked in.
“Hey, Graham. Where’s Ella?”
“She went to check on her grandmother. She’ll be back soon.”
“Okay. How’s everything going with Dr. Ashley?”
“Things are great.” I smiled.
“And you’re liking it here in Los Angeles?”
“Yeah. Of course.”
“No issues or anything?” he asked, which I thought was strange.
“Not at all. Everything is going good.”
“I’m happy to hear that.” He smiled.
The front door opened, and Ella walked in.
“How is Barb?” Christian asked.
“She’s fine. We talked, and I’m starting her on some immunotherapy. I’ll watch her closely and up the dosage if needed.”
“Okay. Good. I’ll leave you two alone.” He walked out the sliding door.
I walked over and wrapped my arms around her, pulling her into me and holding her tight.
“Stay the night,” she asked.
