When I’m fully naked beneath him, he starts undressing himself.
“Hey, babe,” I say.
“Yes, beautiful?”
“You know what the silver lining of this whole broken uterus thing is?”
“What’s that?”
“We don’t have to use a condom,” I say, grabbing him and pulling him back on top of me.
“Are you sure?” He asks, looking at me.
“Positive. I want to feel you.”
Without any more hesitation, he slowly slides inside. With nothing between us, it feels even better than usual.
I guess Don thinks so too because he groans, “Holy shit, baby.”
He kisses me again as my hands roam all over his body. As much as I always love the hard and crazy sex that we have, this is nice too. It’s full of love and all the raw emotion that lies between the two of us.
Every touch…every kiss is filled with passion.
It’s perfect.
We spend the next hour completely locked in on each other, shutting out the rest of the world.
When we finish, I get comfortable, lying on his chest. This might be my new favorite place to lie in the entire world.
“You know,” I begin. “We are going to have to decide where to live. Your place or mine? Or maybe we should just think about getting something bigger.”
“Actually, I think I’ve got a solution to that.”
Epilogue
Don
“I don’t think I can do this,” Abby says in a panic.
“You’re fine,” I assure her. “Everything is going to be okay.”
“No. This is a massive step, and I just don’t think I’m ready.”
“Baby, look at me. You’ve got this. It’s going to be okay.”
“How do you know?” she asks. “How can you possibly know that?”
“Because I’m not going to let anything bad happen. You know I’ve got you…no matter what.”
She gives a small nod.
I tell her, “Now, put the car in drive.”
Never did I think that teaching her how to drive would be a bigger deal than asking Abby to move in with me. That took far less convincing than this. When I first suggested it, she was much more open to the idea, but now that we are actually in the car, she’s freaking out.
I figured that our trip back to Nebraska for a late Christmas would be the perfect opportunity to teach her especially since there’s no snow. Learning on quiet Nebraska country roads is easier than crowded New York City.
“Okay, now, slowly let your foot off the brake.”
