“Zeiden wanted to talk?” she asked, her eyes still closed and her head still against my chest.

“Later. I just need to get us to bed.”

She yawned.

“Am I going home?” she asked.

I grit my teeth together at how she asked.

“You are home now,” was all I could say.

I nearly dropped her when she tried to jump out of my arms.

“What? No, I have stuff at my apartment.”

I held onto her harder until I got to the bedroom. Each floor was a full apartment that we rarely ever spent time in, unless any of had a guest, but that pretty much never happened. None of us wanted to taint our sanctuary. Until now.

“No, you don’t.”

She was squirming.

“No. I do. I have books and my clothes.”

I sighed. This wasn’t going as well as I’d have thought.

“I will be packing it all up. After what just happened? You can’t be left alone.”

I set her down on the bed just for her to bounce back up, and fuck if I didn’t enjoy the way her breasts fucking bounced, and I got a bit more cleavage than I’m sure she realized after sleep had rearranged the dress for her.

“No, it’s my apartment. I have a lease.”

This was as good a time as any to rip off the Band-Aid.

“Yeah, your landlord won’t care.”

She narrowed her eyes.

“She will too care. She will care that I am not coming home.”

I grabbed Rylee by the waist as she tried to get off my bed.

“No, she won’t. I own the fucking building. You’re looking at your landlord. My gran just watched you for me.”

She shut her mouth then. Well, at least she wasn’t fighting me.

“Wait.”

I waited.

“You?”

I nodded.

“You’re? It was, but how?”

Fucking hell.

“The second I found out your graduation plans, I made sure that you dealt with a realtor that I paid off. I made sure the only choice you would make would be the apartment I could protect you in.”
