“No,” I breathed.

And with that word, something inside me broke. A damn crushed under the weight of my inaction and fear and a new feeling, like liquid determination, flooded into me.

Suddenly I was moving toward the monsters.

“What the fuck? Mom?” Eva hissed at me.

But it was finally time for me to stand up and protect my daughter and my friend. I didn’t know what I was going to do, but I knew one thing for sure: I’d found my warrior spirit.

ANAIS

A heat, far different from the molten fire of sexual arousal, consumed me. It filled my limbs and strengthened them. It cleared my mind and suddenly dozens of paths and strategies filled my brain. I knew how to deal the most damage to these fiends and how to stop them.

I didn’t question any of this. I couldn’t. There were no other options left. Instead, I gave myself over to this new and ferocious sensation and charged into battle.

My arms and legs lashed out of their own accord, striking zompires left and right, plowing through the beasts closing in around us. I couldn’t allow anyone past me.

But all the tactical knowledge swirling in my head came to the same conclusion… one person wouldn’t be enough to handle all of these enemies. I needed allies.

Eva was shooting again, but she’d run out of shots soon enough.

Harmonia was exhausted.

Trent wasn’t a fighter.

The inescapable conclusion was, we wouldn’t be enough.

We needed more warriors…

I blinked, surprised as a literal knight-in-shining-armor appeared next to me. It was a spectral, glowing figure, armed with a heavy sword and stout shield and it began to fight alongside me, moving of its own will, slashing — its blade apparently real enough — through the foes.

Then another figure appeared nearby, and another, and another.

I backed up slowly as these strange glowing minions filled the gaps and kept the zompires at bay.

“What the fuck?” I breathed. I didn’t know how it was possible, but I was fairly certainIhad manifested these strange entities.

“Ana?” Harmonia asked from behind me as she put her hand on my shoulder.

I knew where she was and how she was positioned even without looking, just from her voice and how she was touching me.

“Oh!” she breathed, sounding surprised.

A nimbus of light surrounded her which was surprising enough. But then I realized she wasn’t emanating the light, I was, and I was healing her of her exhaustion.

Harmonia blinked, looking refreshed and revitalized.

“Ah… Mom? You’re glowing. Also, who are those knights?” Eva asked as she ran out of ammunition once again. “What’s going on?”

“I have no fucking idea,” I said.

“I do.” Harmonia looked at me meaningfully. “You’re a fucking goddess, and you’ve just come into your power.”

Something about that phrasing made me smile: fromsex daemontofucking goddess. That sounded right to me.

“And one of your aspects is war,” Harmonia breathed. “Which explains why Eva has that aspect as well.”

“A g-goddess?” I stammered. No way!
