“What?” I look between them.
“I have things to tell you, too, mate,” Micah admits.
“I can imagine there are tons of things you have done and seen,” I say, unconcerned.
“This is where I would make a joke about his age,” Saphira mutters sadly.
I look at her unsure face. “It’s alright, Saphira.” I don’t want to interfere with their banter as long as Micah isn’t hurt by it.
“Really?” She asks.
“Really,” I confirm.
“Thank you,” she says. “I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t give him crap.”“Just go easy for a while.” I move toward Micah. “Will Quinn help?”
“Yes,” he says, snagging my hand.
“If he can tear himself away from his mate,” Heath says, moving to the stairs.
“He will,” Micah says softly, pulling me toward the stairs.
“What about them?” I ask, looking at the bodies.
“I bet Bash would love to take care of them,” Sally smirks.
“You love antagonizing him.” Micah guides me in front of him.
“Of course,” Sally says. “He wouldn’t know what to do with his days if I didn’t.”
Saphira matches my steps on the way up. “So will you teach me how to pickpocket?”
“Sure, but can we find my brother first? I would also like to get back to sleeping with Micah.” He growls, and his other hand slips into the waistband of my pants, gently yanking.
I stumble, landing against his chest. “Careful, pet,” he whispers in my ear.
“Oh, alright,” Saphira sighs, ignoring Micah’s words.
“I love Daisy,” Sally says, tossing a grin at me over her shoulder. I would have grinned back if I wasn’t distracted by Micah’s body against mine and his breath in my ear.
“Are you going to behave, mate?” he rumbles.
“Where’s the fun in that?” I sass and then gasp as his hand slides further over my ass.
“I have no problem fucking you on these stairs. The dead bodies hanging behind us won’t bother me,” he says.
I groan and see Sally wink before they disappear around the corner. “I’ll stop,” I concede. As much as I want him, I’m not eager to give my pack members a show, even in death.
“Hmm…” He bites my earlobe. “I’m almost disappointed.” He pulls his hand from my pants and spanks me with it. “Let’s go.” I have to pause to collect myself before continuing.
“Are you friends with Quinn?” I ask, very aware of the heat of his gaze on my ass.
“We are more like brothers.” He puts his hands on my hips as we reach the top of the stairs, and turns me in the direction the others went.
“I’ll be happy to meet him.” I want to ask about his vampire family, but now is not the time. I also don’t want to push him to reveal something he isn’t ready for. We have plenty of time to learn everything about each other. My hips burn from the touch of his palms. I want them on my bare skin.
“He was recently mated,” Micah says. “We lost touch for years until then.” We catch up to the others, and I pretend I don’t see Sally’s knowing look.
“Quinn is hot as fuck, but just as equally grumpy,” Sally says. Heath opens the back door and holds it.
