"There's a solid chance I will be doing that," he says and all but carries her towards the hallway. "Come on, Frogger."
"What the hell was that?" Cherry asks.
Laughing, Lex shrugs. "I have no idea, but I doubt he's going to be climbing on top of her. Not when she's about to start throwing up on the ceiling."
“Are you even listening to me?” Daphne shouts from a couch where she sits with her legs dangling over Nelson’s.
The couple looks over at them, and Lex knows it’s not polite to stare. But when an outburst like that happens, it’s impossible not to. It’s like a car accident.
“Come on, Daph. You know the reason you came here was to get some of that frustration out. Why fight it?”
“Fight it? God, Nelson, I can’t do this anymore.”
She stands, and he reaches out to pull her back down, but she moves out of his grasp. “Come on, don’t do this,” he says.
“This isn’t working.”
“Okay,” he says and lets out an annoyed sigh, “how long are we broken up for this time? A day? Three? A week?”
Her jaw drops. “You think this is some type of… what? Temper tantrum?” the pretty girl with wide hips asks as her black braids hit her back while she shakes her head.
“I just need to know how to plan my time.”
Jaw dropping, Lex says, “I’d slap you if you ever said that to me.”
“I’d deserve it,” Colt says with a laugh.
“You know what? How’s forever sound?”
He groans and glares, his light brown hair perfectly gelled into place. “If you leave tonight, that’s it. I’m not taking you back, Daphne.”
“Yes, because I’ll come begging for this relationship that revolves around sex and fighting.Soenticing.”
“Seems to work fine for me.”
“It doesn’t work for me. I want something more than what feels like multiple one-night stands, Nelson. I’m done,” she says and slams the door behind her.
Colt looks to Lex as Nelson’s face turns beet red. “That’s gotta sting.”
She laughs. “Can’t blame her. They don’t look like they go well together. Maybe his brother can finally have her.”
The clubhouse door slams again before Colt can respond, and both of them look to Dax as if asking if this is normal. He looks as taken aback as they feel.
Chance stands in the doorway, his gaze scanning the crowd until he finds who he's looking for. His eyes lock on Kara, but to Lex's surprise, she doesn't look concerned. Lex, however, is very concerned. Chance looks ready to murder someone, and that someone looks to be his old lady.
"What the fuck, Kara?" he shouts and storms over to her.
The room falls silent, and Kara looks up with such an innocent look that Lex knows this is bad. She grabs Colt's hand as they stare. Shit's about to go down.
"What, Chance?"
"Why did I get told by the goddamned gas station clerk that you were on the lap of another fucking guy two nights ago? No, not just another man. A fuck Kingsmen!"
Tilting her head, she gives him a small smile. "They didn't see it correctly. They just thought they saw me on the lap of a Kingsmen. Everyone thinks they see things they don't really see. Isn't that what you told me?"
Lex turns to Colt. "Did he get caught with another woman?"
"Not that I know of," he whispers back.
