Marnie

It's been over a week since Marnie was last with Venom, and she feels the withdrawal of it. Something nags at her about how upset he looked when they last spoke, and she hopes to see him tonight. Maybe they can work something out that doesn't involve telling her father. Like, maybe meeting up at his place or her place. Probably his place because no one would come looking for one of them there. He's not really known to have friends.

Walking into the clubhouse, she does a quick scan of the darker corners where Venom normally hangs out away from the crowd. Just like every other night she's been here, he's nowhere to be seen. She needs to get a message to him somehow.

Lex sits with Colt, and since she's apparently the only person who knows about them, maybe Lex can talk to Venom. Get him a message of sorts.

"Hey, Lex, can I talk to you?" Marnie asks as she approaches the couple.

Nodding, Lex climbs off Colt's lap, but instead of guiding her to a secluded area, she walks outside. "What's up?"

"You know about me and... you know."

"Yep," she says, the 'p' popping like Venom did when he said nope.

"First, I need to know why you didn't rat us out to my dad."

Rolling her eyes, she looks annoyed and disgusted at the same time, and Marnie can't figure out why. "Because I'm not a rat."

"Okay, I didn't mean to offend you-"

"You need to get out of that little head of yours and realize there's more to the world than you and your feelings. Your wants. Your needs. Other people have them, too, Marnie."

Stepping back, Marnie stares with wide eyes. "Woah, what did I do to you?"

"What do you want from me, Marnie?"

"I was hoping you could talk to Venom for me. He hasn't been around here recently."

"Do you blame him? You let Snake talk down to him. And you joined in."

Her stomach flips. "Lex, you have to understand. He's dirt. He's said it himself."

"If he's dirt, you like to roll around in it. I don't think that makes you any better than him."

"Okay, I think you need to back up-"

"I think you should count your lucky stars that my loyalty to him is stopping me from beating your selfish ass right now," she says, getting in Marnie's face.

Squaring her shoulders, she glares at the blonde. "And if you lay a hand on me, all I gotta do is go inside and tell my dad."

"And then what? You know the first question he's going to ask is why I beat your face into the pavement. What're you gonna tell him? Because I'll tell him the truth."

Marnie realizes she's screwed and has to change tactics. "Look, we're both in a heated place right now."

"If you think this is heated, you have no idea what I'm capable of. This is as calm as I get before ripping your face off like a gorilla."

"Look-"

"Stop saying look. Here's the deal. Venom doesn't want to talk to you. You treat him like he's nothing, and he deserves better than that. He sure as hell deserves better than you, and he's realizing it. He gave me something to give you, though."

The words said take Marnie off-guard. Venom deserves better than her? They were just having fun. Having really great sex and being on the down low. How is that so bad?

"Here," Lex says, handing her bag from Colt's bike.

Taking it, she gasps as she sees twenty some pairs of her panties fold up in the bag. "Where-"

"He gave them to me to give them to you. He's done, Marnie. You messed up a good thing because you thought you were better than him, just like your dad does. But I'll tell you something right now. You fucked up. You fucked up because you're not better than him, and your dad sure as hell isn't either. Venom’s the definition of brotherhood and loyalty, and you and your father are all about looks. Perceptions."
