Warm, soft hands enveloped my face, and I looked into her eyes.

“I love them.”

She leaned toward me, and the scent of clementines and, sunshine and, flowers swirled around me as I rushed to bring my lips to meet hers.

It was as though a lightning bolt had come down from the heavens and struck me silly right smack-dab in the middle of Locke’s office.

Forever, life would be broken into two parts.

Before this moment . . .

And after.

“Starbright, we might have to change your name to Supernova,” I groaned into her mouth as I slid my hands down the length of her back to cup her ass and bring her closer to me.

Gimme gimme.

She tasted like magic rainbow Starbursts, and I wanted to eat her up.

More.

I would wring every single drop of pleasure from her body and drink it from her raw like the monster I was.

Delicious.

Releasing her, I uncrossed my legs and slid off the desk. As my feet hit the ground, I pulled her back in and spun us around so that she was perched on the desk.

I’d heard what Alister did to her. Nixon was less than discreet when it came to harassing his twin about Luz.

My Starbright deserved someone to give her what she was so desperately aching for.

“Lose the coat, my darling,” I said even as I was pushing it from her shoulders.

She shrugged it off and tossed it behind her.

She was wearing jeans, which she almost never did, and a white chunky-knit sweater. Not the ideal outfit for getting her off in Locke’s office, but I was nothing if not adaptable.

“This is crazy . . .” she babbled as I ripped my mouth from hers.

I ran my fingers through her hair, tilting her head away from me to expose the delicate column of her neck.

Fuck. I wasn’t a vampire, but I could see the appeal. I tongued my canines.

It’s going to be hard to get the puncture marks right . . .

She whimpered, breaking me from my trance.

Nibbling on her ear, I wrapped my hands around the crests of her thighs. “Let me make you feel good, love, uh-huh?”

Conflict flitted across her face even as she groaned softly.

Come on, my Starbright.

“This doesn’t mean anything,” she gritted out.

My fingers were already undoing the top of her pants. “Whatever you say, darling.”

I wrapped one arm around her waist and lifted her while peeling her jeans down to just above her knees in one smooth movement.
