“I didn’t let them in. Nothungry.”

“Jesus.” I scrubbed a hand over my face and sighed. She was totally losing her shit in the wake of thisscandal.

Without any provocation, she moved herself onto all fours and arched her back. “Here you go, sir,” she murmured, eyes on the duvet below her. “I assume this is what you camefor.”

The sight of her gorgeous pink pussy and gently-swaying tits made my cock stiffen, but I didn’t make a move to sink into her like I usually would. Fucking her right now would be like fucking a goddamned robot. I didn’t wantthat.

I wanted her to fight me like she used to. Fight me until her back hit the sheets. Then I wanted her to beg formore.

“I came here because I wanted to talk,” I said stiffly. “Put some clotheson.”

She wordlessly got up and stepped into her walk-in closet before reappearing a minute later in a sweater andjeans.

“Sit down,” Isaid.

She did as I said, refusing to meet myeyes.

“I know you think it’s me behind all this shit,” I said. “But I’m telling you, I didn’t leak thoserecordings.”

Willow’s eyes finally met mine, fiery with anger. “Then who the hell was it,sir?” she asked. She spat the title at me like it was a dirtyword.

I ignored her attitude, figuring she’d had enough punishment for now, considering the way her family was being smeared in the media. “I don’tknow.”

She folded her arms. “I know it was you, Logan. You said you’d do something to hurt my mom for covering up what I did to Chloe, and now you have. So congratulations. You’ve destroyed both of us. I hope you’rehappy.”

I held up a palm. “I know I said those things, but I never planned on releasing the recordings. The Order council would fucking murder me if they found out I stole one of the secret confession tapes and released it, and I didn’t even know the second tape existed. I had no fucking clue anyone filmed that conversation between your mother andJamie.”

“Well, someonedid,” she said. “And you’re the one who wants to destroy me and my family themost.”

“I’m sure I’m not the only one who has a problem with yourfamily.”

She slouched and averted her eyes. “If it wasn’t you, it had to be someone else from the Order,” she muttered, picking at a loose thread on the front of hersweater.

“I know. They haven’t said jack-shit, though. I haven’t heard a word from the council. No onehas.”

Willow shrugged and leaned back against the bedhead, eyesshuttering.

“Why are you so pissed at whoever leaked this shit, anyway?” I asked. “You thought your mom was guilty. You said so during your confession in the OrderHall.”

Her eyes snapped open again. “I said I thought there was a tiny, tinychance she did something to Rutherford,” she said through gritted teeth. “I never said I definitely thought she didit!”

I shrugged. “So? You still thought she might’ve done something in the first place. Doesn’t exactly show much faith in her, doesit?”

She took a deep breath and bit her bottom lip as tears gathered in her eyes, making them shimmer. “I changed my mind,” she said. “She’sinnocent.”

“What makes you thinkthat?”

“You wouldn’t understand,” she mumbled, closing her eyes again. With that, she began to cry, shoulders shaking as her chest heaved with pathetic, wrenchingsobs.

Oh, for fuck’ssake…

I left her room and headed up to my father’s study. I only knocked once, assuming he wasn’t home, but he opened the door almost immediately. His eyes were red-rimmed and puffy. He looked utterlyexhausted.

“I didn’t think you’d actually answer,” I said, brows rising. “You haven’t been home fordays.”

“I know. I’ve been at the Order Hall,” hesaid.

“That’s actually why I came to talk to you,” I said, stepping past him. I took a seat near his desk. “Why did you doit?”
