He shook his head. “No. I’m getting the distinct impression that you don’t want to be here, so if you want to climb out one of the windows, goahead.”

My brows pinched together with suspicion. “I’m not stupid. There’s no way you’re just going to let me go like that,” I said. “Let me guess… there’s nothing outside those windows but dirt, because we’re in some sort of secret undergroundbunker.”

Logan chuckled. “We’re not underground. If you open those curtains, you’ll see the night sky and a nice view. Ipromise.”

“We’re on the third story of Thorne House with no way off the balcony, aren’t we? Or one of your otherestates?”

“Nope. No other stories belowus.”

“Are we still on the island with nowhere for me togo?”

“Nope. We left the island a whileago.”

I folded my arms. “So the windows are barred, then.”

“No. They’re just regular windows.” Logan’s smile widened as he tilted his head to the side. “How about I sweeten the deal? Once you escape, I’ll give you a head start. I won’t go after you for at least fiveminutes.”

I knew exactly what he was doing now. He was trying to play yet another shitty stalker game with me. The second I made it outside, he would chase me down and capture me all over again, because he loved the thrill of the hunt. Having me trapped in here right now, already caught and helpless, simply wasn’t enough forhim.

I could outsmart him at his own game, though. If I could find a decent hiding place somewhere outside and evade him for long enough, I could eventually make it off his estate and head to safety. It wouldn’t be easy, but I was determined to see it through. There was no way I was going to allow this psychopath to keep me as hisprisoner.

“Fine. Deal,” Isaid.

I crossed the room, stopping to peek over my shoulder every couple of seconds. I didn’t trust Logan one bit, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he broke his promise and came after me right away, dragging me away from the window before I could get close enough to draw the curtainsback.

He remained motionless, however, staring at me with that cold reptilian gaze he’d perfected over the years. When I reached the thick curtains, he lifted one hand in a casual wave. “Bye,princess.”

“Go fuck yourself,Logan.”

With one swift motion, I whipped the curtains back and looked outside. Logan was right. All I saw was the night sky and a breathtaking view of glittering lights in thedistance.

It was all terribly, terriblywrong.

“No…” Bile rose in my throat and my knees weakened, making me wobble on the spot as I stared out the tiny ovalwindow.

I was on aplane.

“Fucking asshole.”My jaw clenched as I turned back to Logan. “I knew you werelying.”

He smirked. “It was worth it to see your face when you realized where youwere.”

I narrowed my eyes. “Where the hell are you takingme?”

“Home,” he said. “Well, your new home. We had to leave the islandfirst.”

I stomped back over to the bed and sat down. “I thought you said we were already back on themainland.”

“All I said was that we left the island a while ago.” He glanced at his watch. “About half an hourago.”

“I don’t get it.” I shook my head slightly. “It’s only a two hour flight. When you grabbed me in my room it was eleven o’clock. Why would you wait until after four in the morning to takeoff?”

“I didn’t want to draw too much attention. At eleven, everyone is still up at the Bacchanalia,” he said. “By four, most of them are passed outsomewhere.”

I folded my arms. “I thought you said no one in the Order would help me if they knew what was goingon.”
