He’s shooting his load—right onto me.

I peek down and whimper. Raw heat shivers through me right to the bone. With every squirt, Gage is coating me in more and more of his hot mess, and my whole body trembles with delight.

There’s so much of it, and I want it all.

Then, at last, Gage grunts one last time and collapses onto his side, flinging his arm around me to pull me right onto him.

I giggle softly, scooting down a little bit so I can rest against his chest. I’m glad that Gage isn’t trying to say anything, because I can’t think of anything to say, either.

The world seems to spin around us as we snuggle together, just wrapped up hopelessly in each other’s limbs. He holds me tight, stroking my hair softly from time to time, as I rub my cheek against his chest.

My eyes are closed—and I don’t know how long they’ve been closed. At least, not until I feel the touch of a wet cloth against my stomach, cleaning me off.

“Mm!” I squeak, startled.

Gage chuckles quietly, the rumble of it vibrating through his chest—and my whole body.

Of course he brought wet wipes. Probably to clean up after the s’mores. And technically, thisiscleaning up after the s’mores…

I giggle softly.

Gage chuckles again. “Mm?”

“Mmm,” I sigh, gradually opening my eyes. I tip my head back enough that I can look him in the face. He looks just as soft and relaxed as I feel, and it makes me beam at him.

“Please boss around like that regularly.”

“It would be my pleasure,” Gage assures me. He tilts his head as he fiddles with the little stray hairs by my ear. “You never want a turn being boss?”

“Mmm…” I raise my gaze thoughtfully. “Not usually. But for you…”

Oh, wow. I hadn’t even thought of that, to be honest. The idea of being inside Gage and making him feel good the way I want him to do to me…

It makes me tingle in a way I hadn’t expected.

Gage is patiently waiting with an open, curious look on his face.

I can’t help a sheepish chuckle. “I just want you. I want you insatiably, Gage,” I admit.

Then my throat goes tight with all kinds of feelings I don’t want to think about right now.

“Oh, Kieran.” Gage tugs me in so tight that I almost squeak again, pressing his lips against the top of my head. “I’m here,” he whispers, and he holds me some more.

I gaze across his chest toward the harbour. Sunset has a way of creeping up on you here, after the sun slips below the mountains on Vancouver Island. You can blink, and before you know it, it’s dark.

The candles around us are burning down, flickering out one by one to leave us in the dark. It’s a truly warm spring night, and I have Gage’s heat next to me, so it feels like nothing at all has to interrupt us.

At least, until a streak of light shoots across the single patch of darkened sky we can see.

Gage catches his breath, and I gasp at the tiny miracle. “Was that… a shooting star?”

“Mmm. There’s a meteor shower right now. I think it peaks tonight.”

Of course he knows. “Oh mygod,” I breathe out, sitting up to grab my underwear and shorts. “We gotta see that.”

Gage helps me tug my clothes back on, and then he stands up and scoops me right up off my feet into his arms.

“Oof!” I snuggle into his chest as Gage carries me to the trees on the edge of the orchard.
