I’m almost asleep when Liam speaks from beside me, his voice loud with excitement.
“Oh my God, I’ve just had a thought,” he says.
I start and my eyes fly open.
“Sorry,” he says, smiling sheepishly. “I didn’t mean to scare you. But I just had the best idea.”
“Well, you scared me half to death telling me you had the idea. At least tell me what it is,” I laugh, fully awake now.
“So, we’re going to the Maldives, right?” he says.
“Right,” I confirm.
“And we’re getting married if I can get out of the first one. Right?” he says.
“Right,” I confirm again.
“Well? Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” he says.
“That I’m tired but I’m awake so you can tell me things I already know?” I say with a soft laugh.
“No,” Liam says, giving me a look that says ha ha, very funny, not.
“Out with it,” I say.
“Well, how would you feel about us getting married in the Maldives? Just us, our moms, and Cullen and Max. And then when we get back, we can throw a massive party for everyone else,” he says.
I think about it for a moment and then I smile and nod.
“You know, your ideas are getting better every time you have one,” I say.
“You don’t have to sound so surprised,” Liam laughs.
“Oh, but I am,” I say with a grin.
“You are so going to pay for that,” Liam says.
“Oh yeah? How?” I ask.
“Like this,” Liam says, and he pounces on top of me and starts to tickle me.
“No,” I scream, laughing and trying to wriggle out from under him.
He laughs too but he doesn’t let up and the more I wriggle, the more he seems to tickle me. He leans down and kisses me, and he stops tickling me then. He kisses me hungrily and passionately, his tongue probing into my mouth and wrapping around mine. After he kisses me so intensely it takes my breath away, he pulls back slightly.
“I noticed you stopped trying to get away,” he says with a grin.
“Yes, I definitely prefer the kissing,” I agree.
“And the touching?” he says.
“And the touching,” I agree.
“And the licking?” he says.
“And the licking,” I agree.
“And the making love?” he says.
