“Yes, but he doesn’t have the same healing abilities I do. If Kisano’s dragon is as insatiable as you, I really need to help him.”

The dragon made a mournful noise. “Perhaps we have indeed been too selfish.”

Auslin didn't want Kitsuki’s dragon to feel bad. “Think about how much better it will be after you have been missing it a little.” The dragon’s silver eyes were still bright with interest, but he remained silent. “We have the rest of our lives to indulge in carnal pleasures. A few hours apart won’t kill you.”

Kitsuki finally came back to himself once more. His expression was rueful. “You cannot blame us for feeling that way about our beloved mate.”

“No, I can’t. And I’m sure your dragon will more than make up for it later,” Auslin teased as he got out of bed. “For now, I want to eat lunch, then go check on my brother after I take another bath sincesomebodygot me dirty again.”

“Very well,” Kitsuki conceded. “I will join you.”

“You better keep your hands to yourself,” Auslin warned, but his amusement ruined his attempt at sternness.

Kitsuki’s expression turned serious. “You have my word.”

Auslin led the way into the bathroom. “I know I have yours, but what about your dragon’s?”

“So long as you do not unduly tempt him, he will remain restrained.” Kitsuki followed Auslin.

“And you don’t think me wet and naked in the bath will count as unduly tempting him?” Auslin scoffed.

“We shall see.”

Chapter 50

Kizoshi

Auslin and Kitsuki entering the dining hall pulled Kizoshi from reading her book while eating lunch alone. She couldn’t resist teasing them. “Well, well, well. Look who finally stopped pretending they were rabbit shifters.”

“Sister,” Kitsuki greeted her as they sat down across from her at the table. “I assumed you would have returned home by now.”

“Considering you and Kisano claimed your mates on the same night, I did not have much of a choice,” Kizoshi told him, but her tone was not unkind. “Someone had to run your kingdom since your normal regent was otherwise occupied.”

Kitsuki bowed his head with a remorseful expression. “My apologies for the inconvenience.”

“Consider it part of your mating present.” She waved away the concern. “It was no trouble, dear brother. You know I would do anything for you and Auslin. I trust the mated life is to your liking?”

“Indeed, I find it most agreeable.”

Auslin beamed at Kitsuki. “As do I.” He turned his attention to Kizoshi. “Do you know how my brother is faring?”

“He will draw restorative abilities from his bond with Kisano. You do not need to fear for your brother’s well-being.”

“That’s a relief.”

“I would not expect to see them for a few more days,” Kizoshi predicted with a smirk. “As Kisano is still learning how to control his dragon, it will be harder for him to rein his in from indulging in so much carnal delight. However, I suspect your brother will have very few complaints about that.”

It was cute how embarrassed Auslin became over her frankness. “As long as they are happy and Sephen’s body can withstand it, I guess there’s no reason to worry.” Auslin started to eat once lunch was served.

“Since you have much work to catch up on, would you object to Auslin returning to the Divine Realm with me for a few days?” Kizoshi asked her brother. “I think it is fair to say it is the only way you will actually get any work done under the circumstances.”

Kitsuki sighed as he conceded. “You are correct, as always, dear sister.” She never tired of hearing that. He continued. “If Auslin wishes to go, he is free to do so.”

“Is it really okay?” Auslin asked in surprise. “I can’t imagine your dragon will be thrilled.”

“He will have his objections, but Kizoshi is correct. It is the best thing to allow me to take care of affairs of state with a clear mind.”

Auslin grew visibly excited. “If it’s not too much trouble, I’d really like to visit the Divine Realm.”
