Amelia: "Xander... Drakov?"
Xander: "Guilty."
Amelia: Feigning casualness "What a coincidence running into you here."
Xander: "Is it?"
She raised an eyebrow.
Amelia: "You think it's not?"
Xander: "Perhaps fate has a hand in our meetings."
Amelia: "Or perhaps you're following me."
He smiled enigmatically.
Xander: "I assure you, I had no idea you'd be here tonight."
Amelia: "Then fate it is."
They stood in comfortable silence for a moment, both gazing at the sculpture.
Amelia: "Do you often attend gallery openings?"
Xander: "When time permits. Art offers an escape from... obligations."
Amelia: "Heavy lies the crown?"
He glanced at her, a hint of surprise in his eyes.
Xander: "Something like that."
Amelia: "Must be difficult, balancing such a vast business empire with personal interests."
Xander: "It has its challenges. But I find ways to manage."
Amelia: "Such as disappearing to remote estates in the middle of nowhere?"
He turned to face her fully.
Xander: "You did some thorough investigating."
Amelia: "It's my job."
Xander: "And trespassing?"
Amelia: Blushing slightly "An unfortunate misunderstanding."
Xander: "Is that what we're calling it?"
Amelia: "Look, I'm sorry if I overstepped. But you have to admit, you're an intriguing subject."
Xander: "Subject? Am I an experiment now?"
Amelia: Laughing softly "No, but you are a mystery I'd like to unravel."
He studied her intently.
