“You know,” Greer mused, “I’d like to talk to you both about doing some filming for me. As I grow in my brand, I could use a film crew that’s a little more seasoned.”
“I’d certainly be up to having a conversation,” Kyle said with enthusiasm.
A wry grin pulled at Cricket’s mouth. “As long as it doesn’t involve skinning a watermelon, I’d be up for it.”
“Come on now,” Kyle protested. “Don’t be a buzz kill.”
Greer stroked his chin in mock consideration. “Hmm … we could always try skinning a cantaloupe.”
Treasure shook her head. “I don’t think so.”
His eyes danced with mischief. “A honeydew melon?” He turned to Kyle. “I’ve got our title for the next segment. Skinning the melons.”
Everyone laughed.
Treasure picked up the menu in front of her. “On that note. Let’s order lunch. I’m starving.”
Later that afternoon, Treasure and Greer finally made it to the beach. As they were walking across the sand to get to their favorite spot, Greer caught Treasure’s hand and turned her around to face him. He peered into her eyes. “You were amazing today, T.”
“Thanks,” she murmured, deeply appreciating his compliment.
“You are a woman of many talents. And you’re much stronger than you realize.”
“I suppose I am.” Emotion coated her throat. “It’s easy to be strong with you by my side.”
He gave her a meaningful look. “I’m not going anywhere.”
“I know, and I’m so glad,” she said softly.
He stepped back and motioned with his arm. “Look around. What do you see?” he asked grandly.
She lifted an eyebrow in amusement. “The beach?”
His eyes glittered with the light of a thousand sunrises and diamonds all rolled into one. “Our future,” he exclaimed, talking with his hands. “Me and you together. There’s nothing we can’t accomplish.”
Oh, how she loved seeing the world through Greer’s eyes. Their life together would be a grand adventure—one she was more than willing to take. A teasing smile tugged at her lips. “Nothing?”
“Nothing,” he shouted into the air.
“What about the flying machine?”
A full-hearted laugh floated from his lips. “You know, T. I just might have to build you that flying machine after all.”
