She puts her palms on my chest and looks up at me, her eyes bright and happy.

“Okay. Friday. So I have three days to get ready for this.”

I furrow my brow, confused. “What do you need to do to get ready?”

“Hair. Nails. An outfit for dinner. Maybe a little waxing if you play your cards right.”

“Fuck yeah, babe. I’m at your service this week if that’s what I get.”

She stands up on her toes to kiss me. “Thank you for this. I’m excited.”

“Me too.”

That’s an understatement. I’m fully hard right now. We went through a period of almost two years with Ollie where he slept so badly that sex was mostly an afterthought. We got in the occasional quickie, and that was it.

I’m finally getting an entire night to remind my wife we’ve still got it.

“Hey, are you here alone?”Cam asks lightly.

I turn and get up from my chair at the bar of the restaurant where we have a dinner reservation. My wife is wearing a low-cut black V-neck dress and sexy red heels, her hair in waves around her shoulders. For a few seconds, I just drink in the sight of her.

“Wow.”

She does a little turn, smiling radiantly. “That’s the reaction I was hoping for.”

This morning, after school drop-off, I gave her a key card to our hotel and told her to get ready for our date there. I knew the kids would be hanging all over her if she got ready at home and she’d have a hard time leaving.

I didn’t have that issue. I asked Cassie to come an hour early so I could shave, shower and dress in peace. Then I hugged Mae, Max and Ollie, went over the plans with Sam and Tate again and left to have a drink at the bar before Cam arrived.

“Is this a new suit?” Cam runs her fingertips down my lapel and I see she’s had her nails painted dark red.

“Yeah, you like it?”

“I do.” She gives me an approving look.

I pull out the high-top chair next to mine. “To answer your question, I’m waiting for my wife.”

“Lucky girl.” She smiles playfully and sits down.

I lean down and kiss her neck softly. Her soft, sensual perfume makes me want to forget dinner and go to the hotel right now.

“I’m the lucky one,” I say in her ear. “It’s all I can do to keep my hands off of you right now.”

She leans back slightly, her head touching my shoulder. “How long until dinner?”

“Too long. Another forty-five minutes.”

“Anything to drink, ma’am?” the bartender asks.

Our private moment ends abruptly as Cam sits up straight and clears her throat.

“Um...I’ll have a lemon drop, please.”

I shoot the cockblocking bartender a quick glare and take my seat next to Cam.

“How’s your day been?” I ask her.

“Absolutely amazing.”
