As badly as I wishedwe could remain in that bubble, I knew our time was up when Deke slowly eased out of me. My body fluttered around him, and the groan he gave was nearly enough to make me want to go again.

Almost.

But then the oversensitive ache kicked in, and I decided I needed a couple of hours.

Deke didn’t climb from the bed to move on to whatever more important matters he had to handle. Instead, he pulled me to cuddle. His fingers toyed with my hair, and my eyes grew heavy.

Right until he asked, “Who the hell was the guy Juno mentioned?”

“Tom?” I evaded. “That’s her dog.”
