“Heel,” Darro ordered curtly, relaxing his stance.

Bo stopped growling and returned to Darro’s right side, Misty to his left.

“That’s impressive, but do you treat all visitors this way?”

Darro ignored the compliment and asked his own question. “What’s yer name and what do ye want?”

“My name is Vince Gallo. I’m a private detective and I’m looking for a woman named Poppy Condoloro, but you’ll probably know her as Macy Kennedy. Is she here? And if so, can I speak with her? She could be in danger.”

Darro’s eyes narrowed. “From what I understand, that danger is ye, Mr. Gallo.”

The stranger looked startled and disbelieving. “Me? No, no, you’ve got it all wrong.”

Darro motioned towards the deck. “Ye can come up and have a seat whilst I text my second in command.”

With Dal standing against one of the pillars and the rifle lying across his forearm, Darro was satisfied that Mr. Gallo was well secured for the moment.

Chapter 7

Angus plucked the cellphone from his shirt pocket when it went off with a text from Darro.

‘He’s here, how close are you?’

He quickly texted back.‘About 10 minutes out.’

‘We’ll hold him for you.’

Poppy sat up straight with a worried frown. “Who was that?”

“Darro,” Angus replied with a satisfied smirk. “Ye’re stalker showed up and he and the lads are holdin’ him.”

She gasped. “He actually came to Neamh out in the open?”

“I would assume so, since Darro didn’t report a shootout,” Angus replied, his eyes twinkling.

Her brow furrowed. “Why would he do that?”
