“No,” Aidan and I reply in stereo.

“Dad, you said it’s bad to lie,” Emily responds, her bag in her hand. “I know you’re lying because you two were definitely kissing.”

On that note, she turns on her heel and walks out.

Meeting Aidan’s gaze, we both burst out laughing. Covering my kiss-swollen mouth, I gaze toward the door. “Do you think she’s mad?”

“No,” Aidan responds. “She just thinks we’re terrible liars.”

“What do you think?”

“That you’re the greatest kisser in the world.” He ducks down, teasing his lips across mine. “I want more.”

“How much more?”

“Everything, and then some.” Another desperate erotic battle ensues as our tongues slide together in perfect sync. “You taste so good.”

“I was thinking the same thing about you.”

“Dad, Mom’s car won’t start. She needs a jump.” This time, it’s Natalie hollering from the front door.

Okay, universe, we get the hint.

Chuckling, I nod toward the entrance. “You’d better go.”

Aidan nods, a wistful expression on his face. “Why do I feel like we’re missing out on quite an opportunity?”

“Maybe there will be more opportunities in the future.” Pressing a kiss to his mouth, I feel his breath hitch, his hands tightening around my ass. “Thank you for the flowers.”

“Thank you.”

“For what?”

He lifts my hand, pressing a kiss to my palm. “Being you, Chloe.”

“Dad,” Natalie calls again. “I have to get home and study for my test tomorrow.”

“I’ve decided I’m disowning my children.”

“Eh, I’ll adopt them.”

He grins, smacking a final kiss on my mouth. “You would. I’ll see you later, sweets.”

As the front door closes, I sag against the side of the refrigerator, reliving every delicious moment of being in Aidan’s arms.

Chapter 9

Aidan

I’ve replayed our kiss at least a million times in my mind, along with every other sexual act under the sun.

I didn’t plan on kissing Chloe last night, but when she turned around, those pouty lips at the ready, there was no holding back.

Part of me figured that once I kissed her, the thrill of the unknown would fade, and we could go back to being friends with a flirtatious bent.

Not even close. Instead, the kiss upended me, feelings coursing through me the moment we touched that I’ve never experienced before.

Now, I want her even more than I did, which makes our situationwaymore complicated.
