Page 45 of Make You Stay

“I’m wondering what the full range of your personal attention looks like.”

To be fair, she started it. But I’m sure as hell going to finish it. Backing Chloe against the wall, I cage her in, my forearms resting on either side of her head. “I’ll lick every inch of you until you’re screaming my name, and the only thought you’ll have in your head from that point on is how good my tongue feels wrapped around your clit.”

The air is thick with desire as the energy sparks between us. Her pupils dilate as a faint sheen of sweat breaks across her brow. Oh, yes, that did it.

I take a step back before I make good on my promise in front of the entire bar. Would I go down on her right here?

Hell, yes, I would.

“Cat got your tongue, Chloe?”

She runs her hands under her hair before pivoting to show off that gorgeous rear. “I was just thinking what a shame it is that you’re a man of morals. I sure could go for some personal attention.”

My cock springs to attention, damn near busting out of my jeans. It’s like a homing device, aiming straight for what lies between Chloe’s thighs.

Her gaze drops to my pants before meeting my hooded stare. “Granted, I’d expect equal time. You can’t have all the fun. Have a good second set, handsome.”

“Holy fuck,” I mutter as she struts away, those hips swaying in a nonverbal call to me.

“Who is that hot commodity?”

“Back off, Darryl,” I bark to the drummer, my eyes glued to Chloe’s retreating form.

“I guess she’s taken.”

“Damn straight.”

* * *

By the timeI pull into my driveway later that night, I know two things.

I’m desperate for Chloe, and I’m falling desperately in love with her.

The first concept I can handle. The other one scares the shit out of me.

To top it off, my phone has gone off five times since we left the bar, and it isn’t Enid or the girls.

It’s Barbara. She cornered me after the second set, obviously in her cups, and terribly upset that I was with another woman. The fact she was with another man seemed to slip her mind, but I wanted to be the good guy. I spent ten minutes consoling her, and when I walked back over to Chloe, I knew she’d seen the interaction.

Like a true lady, Chloe said nothing, but the levity of earlier in the evening was gone.

Time to get things back on track. I walk Chloe to her door as I silence yet another call.

“Is she okay?”

“I’m sure she’s fine.”

She unlocks the door, turning toward me, a smile on her sexy mouth. “Do you want to come inside?”

“Yes.”

No sooner has the word left my mouth than my phone rings again. “That’s it, I’m changing my number.”

“Answer the phone,” Chloe instructs. “It might be important.”

“I’m sure it isn’t.”

“Do it, anyway.”
