My sisters and I exchanged looks of surprise.

“Damn, they didn’t waste any time,” Zora whistled.

“He’s so hot, I’d screw him too if he asked,” Clementine whispered conspiratorially.

“Don’t let Izzy hear you say that after he’s her mate,” Avery warned.

All three of them looked at me, and I had a feeling similar things had been said about Damian.

My hand tightened on his, and he squeezed it lightly.

He was mine.

That was what mattered.

And my sisters could be horny, but none of them would ever dream of screwing a mated man. Mated pairs were solidly off-limits.

A few minutes after that, the couple finally stepped back out. Their faces were red and they were breathing faster than usual.

The black marks around their throats drew my attention immediately. They were pretty, swirling bands that I knew Izzy would love even without asking.

From there, we headed down the hallway.

And to the neutral territory.

Zora, Clementine, and Avery all hugged Izzy and whispered, “Good luck,” before staying in the vampire wing of the Manor.

We met a massive group of vamp guards in the hallway, led by Egan, and Porter growled an order to Izzy before he strode away without us.

All of us couldn’t arrive together.

Not if we didn’t want everyone to think we’d teamed up to work against Curtis—and we didn’t—so, we had to stay separated.

Izzy was surrounded completelyby huge vampires as Damian pulled me to the front of the group with him. Though he looked calm and collected, his grip on my hand was iron, and he pulled out a length of rope.

“You’re not actually going to tie me to you, right?” I whispered.

“I am. If one of these wolves tries to grab you, they’re going to be in for a surprise.” He slid the rope through one of my belt loops, then one of his, and tied a complex knot.

I sighed, but didn’t argue.

If a wolf tried to grab me, I was going to be glad for his paranoia.

There were wolveseverywherewhen we reached the hallway that led into the neutral territory.

Wolves in lines.

Wolves in crowds.

Wolves whispering excitedly.

Wolves wrestling and pummeling each other off to the side of the room.

I imagined being mated to one of them, surrounded by the furry beasts constantly, and shuddered.
