I gasp. “That’s amazing!”

Lock clasps my hands in his. “We’ve gotta drive over there.”

“Yeah, let’s go!” I throw the covers back.

“Whoa, not so fast,” he growls.

“What?”

“Something important we’ve got to do first.” He pushes me back down, and arches over me.

“What’s that?” I say, full of innocence, as he spreads my thighs.

“It’ll work better if I show you,” he growls, his cock already rubbing against my pussy.

Six hours later,we are passing a sign sayingWelcome to Twin Falls.

“We’re here,” I whisper to Lock. The kids are asleep in the back of the truck. We didn’t tell them where we were going, in case it doesn’t work out. We just said we were going on a day trip, and that was enough for them to pile into the truck, chattering excitably.

They’re really good kids. I think how much they’ve changed in the past couple of days. How difficult I thought they were when I first arrived. All they needed was some love and a sign that someone gave a crap about them.

As we pull off the highway and weave through some small-town streets, I hear yawning and stretching coming from behind me.

“Iknowthis place,” says Mari’s little voice.

My breath catches. “Where from, sweetie?”

“I don’t know,” she says drowsily, but Lock and I exchange a glance. This feels likesomething.

We pass through an area of dense forest, then pull into a parking lot. A guy and a girl climb out of an RV—the only other vehicle parked there. He has long graying hair and a beard, and the girl is younger. She’s real pretty with long, dark auburn hair and freckles.

“Howdy.” He waves. “Lock and Zoe? I’m Beau and this is Savannah.” They shake our hands warmly. “And the kids?”

Right on cue, they spill out of the truck. He looks at them closely then breaks into a grin. “Yup, I’m pretty darn sure they’re the ones.”

I squeeze Lock’s hand, bursting with excitement.

Beau and Savannah lead us through the forest on foot.

After a few minutes a guy steps out from behind a tree, and I jump.

“Who the hell are you—?” He doesn’t finish the sentence. Instead, his face transforms with amazement and he lets out a ragged gasp. “Jenny?” He tears past us, and the next thing I know, Mari is in his arms.

“Daddy!” she shrieks, clinging to him tight.

“Alec, Jax, c’mere!” He beckons to the twins. They go to him uncertainly, but a moment later, all four of them are in a group hug. Then he yells over his shoulder, “Ellie, get over here. I’ve got something to show you.”

A tall, strong-looking woman comes hurrying along the forest trail. Her face is thin and tense, but when she catches sight of the kids, she lets out a shout of joy and drops to her knees. “Oh, my babies.”

“Mama!” Mari whimpers, and throws herself into the woman’s arms.

“Think we found the parents,” Beau says with a grin.

I look up at Lock, overflowing with gratitude. Tears are pouring down my face. He puts his arm around me and holds me close, and together we watch the beautiful reunion.

“So, not Mari, Jace and Todd, but Jenny, Alec and Jaxx,” I say.
