I wrinkle my nose. “It is a creepy house, isn’t it?”
“Only because it felt sad.” He shuts the door and locks it behind us. “So, Ellie says we’ve got an hour till dinner.”
I cock my head. “How are we gonna entertain ourselves until then?”
“Well, I’m planning to make you come all over my cock,” he growls, reaching for me.
I’m too quick for him though. Giggling, I dart away and run for the bedroom.
He comes after me and catches me up, before tossing me down on the bed.
I let out a squeal. But when I see his expression, I go still. “What is it?”
His nostrils flare and I hear his bear’s growly breathing.
“You know I love you, right?” he says at last.
My breath catches. “You do?”
“So much. You’re so amazing, Zoe. I’m so lucky to have you.”
“Oh, I love you, too,” I tell him.
A groan of relief rushes from his lips.
Then he strips my clothes off.
This time it’s different. Still wild and thrilling, but I feel the love pouring out of us and into each other. When his cock fills me up, I feel us truly connecting as mates.
This time, he growls that he loves me as he fills me with his seed.

Dinner isfull of laughter and happy tears. We all gather around the family’s big kitchen table and Ellie ladles out massive portions of venison stew.
We’ve just sat down when their eldest daughter, Becky, returns from a day trip. She walks into the room and lets out a scream when she sees the little brothers and sister she thought she’d lost forever. They run into each other’s arms, shrieking in joy.
Other members of the clan come around all the time, overjoyed to reunite with the kids. They thank us so many times I feel embarrassed.
“You’re family now, you know that?” Lock whispers. “Like it or not.”
“I like it,” I tell him, happily.

The next morning,Ellie insists we stay for breakfast. My throat gets tight as I chat to the kids for what will be the last time. The last few days have been such a rollercoaster of emotions. Struggling so much with them at first, then daydreaming that I could keep them forever. Then taking them back home where they truly belong. They look so happy here, but I’m going to miss them a lot.
When Lock and I head back to the cabin to grab our stuff, I burst into tears.
He’s right there, taking me into his arms. “What is it, baby?”
“Oh, it’s silly,” I protest.
He draws back and looks at me seriously. “Nothing you feel is silly, Zoe. I want to know every single one of your thoughts.”
“You may regret saying that one day,” I sniffle. “I’m just sad. You know, for a minute it felt like the five of us were a family. And I’m so, so glad that the kids have got their real family back, but it’s just gonna take me a little while to get over it.”
“I feel the same,” he says, rubbing my back.
