“Except it’s never going to happen. I don’t forgive cheating, and I don’t want Zane back. Besides, I’m in love with Tucker, and he loves me.”

Larissa gasped from her seat a few spots down in front of me, and I flinched at how loud that must have come out.Crap… Now, it’ll get back to Lisa.I didn’t know if that was a good or a bad thing.

When the game was over, I hurried to change in the locker rooms and rushed out to find Tucker waiting with Annie at some of the benches nearby. He jumped up, running up to me, and scooped me up in his arms. My legs immediately wrapped around his waist.

“You looked so amazing out there. And so fucking sexy.”

I grabbed his hair, smothering his mouth with a kiss, instantly thinking back to his comment this afternoon. Despite what I’d implied, and as fun as sex was, I wasn’t sure if I was ready for oral. All the girls that had come before me… What if I sucked?

Pun not intended.

“You okay?” Tucker pulled back after a minute. I nodded, embarrassed to tell him where my head had gone. I unwrapped my legs; then Tucker let me slide down his front until my toestouched the ground again. I found Annie and Jet in their own embrace behind us.

“Y’all ready to go party?” Tucker asked, and my stomach dropped.

Annie gave a thumbs up behind Jet’s back, the two of them pecking a few times before easing from their kiss. “Corey’s?”

“Noah’s, actually. His mom’s out of town.”

“I’m up for a scenery change.” She shrugged. “Izzy?”

I glanced between them. “How big are we talking?”

“Uh…I’m actually not sure. You worried?” Tucker pulled me to his side with a light squeeze.

I popped a shoulder. A little, but they knew I hated big parties, anyway. I looked at the hope on their faces.

“You’ll have one of us by your side all night tonight,” Jet promised.

I sighed before giving them a smile. “Okay.”

Chapter 7

JET

The party was epic. It was what the end of summer should have been. Well, I’d take that back. That night at the races was awesome. At least, before all that shit went down.

Izzy had Tucker on the dance floor while I had Annie at the bar in the kitchen with Emma, Megan, and some of the guys, a row of tequila shots and limes spread in front of us. We were lined up on either side of the counter, all of our hands behind our backs.

“Y’all ready?” Kyle asked, holding up his phone for the timer.

“Just go, dickwad,” Noah grunted, and Kyle flipped him off.

“Ready, set, go!”

Mateo started on our end, reaching down for his shot. He tilted his head back, downing it in one go, and dropped his glass back to the counter as Emma tiptoed to pass him the lime. She and Annie bent next, and damn, I’d never tell them, but it washot watching my girl feed the lime to Emma. I got my lime prepped, and as soon as Annie downed her shot, I leaned in, nipping her lip after she’d sucked the lime from my lips. I was at the end, scooping up my shot. I felt the burn down my throat and dropped it back to the counter just a second before Corey finished his.

Our side threw our hands in the air. “Score!”

I scooped Annie up, carrying her across the crowded room to collapse with her on the end of the couch. Trisha yelped when I knocked her drink, but I was laughing too hard to care. It had been an amazing night. Nothing could bring me down.

“I fucking love you in my jersey. So fucking hot.” I tugged on the sleeve as Annie straddled my lap.

“I fucking love the way you asked me to wear it.” She leaned down, biting my bottom lip and gave it a long, gentle tug. My hand reached up to thread through the hair beneath her ponytail, my other slipping under her shirt at her waist as I pulled her against me for another kiss. Her hands found my hair, the two of us inhaling each other. Like we couldn’t get enough.

I knewIcouldn’t. There would never be enough of Annie Donovan for me. This girl was my world. The very reason for my heart to beat.

“Hey, get a room.” I felt someone nudge me from behind.
