“Oh god, what is he going to do with—wait I remember something.”
“What is it?” I shout.
“When I was coming to after I hit my head, I remember Logan demanding Rae took something from him and he wanted to find it. She denied it.”
Easton looks at me. “Do you know anything about this?”
I shake my head. “No, she never told me she took anything from him.”
“None of her stuff is in the house. She took everything with her to the farm,” Harper says.
I try to recall any memories I have with Rae talking about Logan. But nothing comes to mind. Then it hits me. “I don’t know what she took. But I know where she would have put it, if she took anything at all.”
“Where?” Easton asks.
“The treehouse.”
“Fuck,” Easton mutters. “Harper, do not go home. Go back to the office or the diner or my shop. Just keep yourself and Theo away.”
“Don’t do anything stupid, Easton. I’ll call the cops.”
“Wait,” Easton says. “Don’t call them. I’ll do it when I am sure they are at the house.”
“Okay,” Harper whispers.
“I love you, baby.”
“I love you, too. Be safe, both of you,” Harper answers.
Easton hangs up the phone and slams on the gas as we fly down the road toward his house.
