“Yeah,” Leo nodded, scuffing the toe of his leather shoe on the floor. “Promised Nacho we’d go to the science museum.”
Glancing over the counter to see Dezi immersed in blocks she was stacking, I pulled Leo into my arms. “I want to see you again. Soon.”
“Just you and me?” Leo asked in a small voice, and I couldn’t help laying a kiss on his lips to reassure him. Leo blinked up at me when I let his lips go.
“Just you and me and then you can stay over on purpose this time,” I told him with a squeeze to his perfectly round ass. “Can I take you on a date, baby boy?”
He nibbled on his lip just long enough to worry me, but then Leo gave me his wide grin as he whispered, “Okay, Daddy. I’d love to go on a date with you.”
There was no force in the world that could keep me from kissing him then.
Chapter seventeen
Leo
We should have expected for our date to get postponed, because little girls got sick all the time and she was around a lot of people at Friendsgiving. I was still sad when I had to wait a whole extra week for Isaac to take me out. Dezi being sick meant I also didn’t see Isaac at school.
Isaac wanted our date to be a surprise, but said not to eat dinner since he was picking me up at six. I was honored that Isaac got a sitter to take me out, since he’d never had one before. We’d been texting daily, and even had a few hot phone sex calls, but being with him was different. Better.
“Excited to see your man?” Cam asked, bumping her hip into mine as she went to pass me in the hall.
“It’s been two weeks,” I pouted and she laughed.
“That ‘we just met and want to be around each other all the time’, phase,” Cam mock sighed and I rolled my eyes.
“We met in August, exchanged numbers in September, had our first kiss in October,” I listed on my fingers, leaving off the first time having sex or sleeping in his bed. “It’s mid-December, that’s forever.”
The doorbell rang and I rushed to answer it. I vaguely heard Cam calling out to me as I grabbed my overnight bag, “Have fun, see you tomorrow!”
Opening the door, a rush of cold air came in through the security gate, but I only thought of Isaac. Standing there in a tan peacoat and white collared shirt, I was almost drooling at how sexy he was with full lips smiling over his beard. Isaac was allDaddy, and I hoped he found my knit sweater and red scarf cute.
“Hi, baby boy,” Isaac greeted, and I melted.
Hearing Cam giggle from down the hall, I closed the door and hurried to open the gate. Throwing myself in Isaac’s arms, he caught me easily, “Hi, Daddy.”
“Mmm,” Isaac hummed and planted a short and sweet kiss on my lips. “I like when you call me that.”
“Me too,” I grinned, happy to be in his arms but also very curious. Isaac had a way of bringing my little out more than ever. “Where are you taking me, Daddy?”
“You’ll see,” Isaac winked and stepped back to take my hand. I chatted his ear off with things children had said and done all week while we walked a block to where his black SUV was parked. Isaac opened the door for me, and held out his hand to take my bag, “Hop in.”
“Thank you, Daddy.”
Isaac got in and turned on holiday songs, and I could have kissed him again. I loved to sing along, which he remembered from when I told him a week before about teaching my preschoolers. Isaac hummed along and sometimes joined in with a deep baritone, but mostly he smiled indulgently as we headed back towards his place.
“Are we going to your condo?” I asked, but then he turned onto Geary. I often used GPS to get everywhere, even though I didn’t drive much, but I did know my city well.
“Not until later.”
Isaac seemed to know where he was going as we pulled into a parking garage. We paid the attendant and got out, and I was happy when Isaac took my hand in his. I knew this was his first date with a man, and I was glad he didn’t seem nervous at all.
“Let’s get some hot cocoa,” Isaac stated, my first clue.
“I love hot cocoa,” I agreed, swinging his arm as we walked. The lights of Union Square told me more about our date, where therewere blocks of holiday decor, hundreds of tourists, and a giant ice rink. “Ooh, I haven’t come here in a few years!”
“You said you always loved it.” Isaac leaned in to speak in a low voice, “And I want to give you whatever you want, baby boy.”
A shiver of pleasure ran through me and I couldn’t help giving him a peck on the cheek. I wasn’t sure how he felt about public displays of affection, beyond the kiss at my place with no one around and holding hands in a crowd, so I was glad when he grinned at my stolen kiss.
