“You know he’s going to kill us.” Fallon threw her hands in the air. “Did you even find anything from the footage last night so we at least know who not to run into?”
He shook his head. “All the hard-wired camera recordings from the pool area have been tampered with and the handheld video feed hasn’t been uploaded to the servers yet. Ranger told them to delete the footage.”
“Damn it. He wasn’t thinking clearly.” Fallon started to pace.
I was inching my way to the door when she stopped, pointing a black painted nail at me in warning.
“I’ll be right back,” I promised. “And I’ll never eat or drink another thing at this resort unless someone else is around to double test it with me.”
“She’s as stubborn as Ranger.” Fallon turned to glare at Ivan. “We’ll both go with her. Check the other camera feeds and make sure her room is clear.”
“Make… sure… my…. Other cameras?” I narrowed my eyes, waiting for an explanation.
Her bravado a moment earlier was flipped like a switch, leaving her doe-eyed and apologetic. “Oops.”
“Oops?”
Fallon picked up her coffee cup, stalling before she spoke. “We might as well get everything out in the open now so there’s none of those weird third act break-up moments.”
*
I was going to kill that overbearing, possessive, crazy, freaking Alpha.
He’s sweet,my wolf gushed.
She was still on drugs.
I dragged a chair into my room, ignoring Fallon and Ivan’s protests, and found a small camera no bigger than my thumb painted white and attached to the fire alarm.
I smashed it under my shoe, growling as Ivan pointed to the corner above the mini-fridge.
How dare he invade my privacy this way?
I know more places he can invade.
Will you stop standing up for him?I ripped the camera off the wall and stomped on that too. I knew it. At first I thought it was the show, but I hadn’t been able to shake the feeling of being watched. I wasn’t crazy. I was furious.
What if he…My jaw dropped open.
He could have watched me masturbate.
You were thinking of him, so why hide it?
You’re not helping!I clenched my teeth.
“He’s not really as crazy as he seems,” Fallon offered as I combed through my hotel room for more recording devices. “We had a rough life and he feels like he has to stay in control so things won’t get bad again.”
I didn’t want a psychology report.
Not when I was this angry.
The doors to the closet hit the outer wall as I gathered the clothes and hangers into my arms.
Fallon blocked the balcony with her hands raised. “Calm down. We can talk about this.”
“Calm down?” My laugh sounded deranged.
“What’s happening in here?” Jesse was standing in the hotel room as Ivan closed the front door. His cat eyes widened upon seeing the clothes in my hands. “I know you’re not wrinkling that Valentino silk blouse.”
