“You okay, sweetheart?” I asked as I worked to catch my breath.
“Perfectly okay,” Gideon sighed, relaxing over the arm of the chair. “That was amazing.”
He was resting for a moment, but that didn’t stop me from admiring the mess of slick and cum seeping down his thighs. I wiped my mouth and considered crouching to rub my face in it.
It was the middle of the day, though, and I was certain Gid had more work to get done. Hell, I needed to get back to work, too. I worked remotely for a tech company doing IT, even though Gid insisted I didn’t have to and that he could support us. I would have gotten bored without work.
“Let me get you a warm towel to clean up,” I said, stepping back and sliding my jeans up so I could fasten them. I would go upstairs, shower, and change once I was certain Gideon was settled.
I dashed into the kitchen to wet a towel, then ran back into the den. Gid hadn’t moved. It was part of his instinct for obedience. But as I wiped the towel over his thighs and ass, kissing each lightly as I did, his concerned expression didn’t go away.
“Are you worried about your heat?” I asked him.
Gid hummed like he was considering it, then said, “A little, yes, but I’ve got something else on my mind, too.”
“Care to share?” I asked, slipping the towel between his constrained thighs and wiping there.
Gid was unusually silent and tense for a while. Finally, he said, “I have a new follower on social media.”
“Are they bothering you?” I asked, ready to leap through the internet to strangle someone.
“No,” Gid said in a way that made me think he meant yes. “They were asking a lot of questions, though.”
“You know better than to answer, sweetheart,” I said, trusting that Gid hadn’t created problems.
“Of course,” he said, then was silent for another long spell. When I finished cleaning him and pulled him upright and into my arms, he said, “I’m worried this person is connected to….”
“You don’t have to say his name, baby,” I said, pulling his trousers up and retying the drawstring while he lay his back against my chest.
“I’m worriedhe’sfigured out where we are,” Gideon whispered.
I froze for a moment, trying not to give in to my worst fear.
“If he has, we’ll deal with it,” I said calmly, though I was anything but calm inside. The worst thing I could think of was forhimto find us just as Gideon was about to go into heat. “We’ve moved and evaded him before. We can do it again if we have to.”
“I don’t want to move again,” Gideon said sullenly. “I like this farm. It’s the first place that has ever felt like a home to me.”
“I know, sweetheart,” I said, turning him in my armsand kissing him. “Although anywhere with you feels like home to me. But let’s worry about your heat first. This person online could just be some overzealous fan. Why don’t you let me go through your messages and read everything they’ve sent and I’ll tell you what I think.”
“Okay, Fletcher,” Gideon said, happy again as he slipped his arms over my shoulders. “I love you so much.”
“I love you, too, baby,” I said, kissing him soundly.
That’s what kept the two of us safe. I loved my husband, and I would do whatever it took to protect him and provide for him. Even if that meant bringing an alpha plaything into the house so I could milk his cum and use it for Gid’s heat.
I could ignore the undeniable attraction I had for Artemis while I did that. He was just an alpha. He’d be here and gone before we knew it, and Gid and I could get back to our life together.
CHAPTER THREE
Artemis
Iwas restless for the rest of the day after having lunch with Fletcher Battersea. I couldn’t get his scent out of my nose or the images of everything that could happen in our fantasy out of my head. It made for an uncomfortable work day as I tried to sneak around the office with my dress trousers tented.
I ended up leaving early, then going home. My initial intention was to take a shower and rub one out to ease the ache, but I thought of Fletcher and Gideon and decided I needed to wait for their sake. Instead of jacking off, I went down to my building’s gym to work out.
The call didn’t come that evening, as much as I wanted it to. I thought about calling or texting Fletcher to see how things were going and to ask if he wanted me to come over early as I undressed for bed. Reminding myself that Gideon had been traumatized and that he probably wouldn’tappreciate a strange alpha showing up at his house in the middle of the night and going into rut at the first scent of his heat stopped me.
There was no call in the morning as I got up and reluctantly got ready for work. I did have work to do, although I’d been trying to pass on as many projects as I could in case I ended up leaving Victory Holdings before they were finished. I wanted out of the company, but I wasn’t the sort of jerk who would drop a ton of half-finished projects on people who didn’t know what was going on.
