“You have to be tired now,” she murmurs. “I could sleep for a week.”

I nod against her shoulder. My soul mingles with hers as I hold her. The two of us become one after the intensity of our coupling. I’ve never felt this way. The satisfaction I felt with previous loves is nowhere near what I feel right now.

I’ve had her in every way I can. I’ll keep her and pleasure her and love her. Love.

It blasts through me, overwhelming all my senses. I’ve known that I’ve loved her from the moment she landed in my realm.

Why have I not told her? I should’ve told her every moment we’ve been together. She wants to stay with me. Surely I’ve done enough to earn hers? Maybe she’s just waiting for my confession before surrendering her own.

Possessiveness—needing to lay this ultimate claim—burns my blood as I tighten my hold on her.

“I love you, my blossom,” I say.

Her response never comes and as I glance down at her face I know why. She’s out cold. Her breath is deep and even.

A small smile curls my lips as I wave my hand and the silk sheet covers us. I’ll tell her again in the morning. After all, we have eternity together. Laurelle is mine. I’ve claimed her just as she’s claimed me. For the first time, the future doesn’t seem so much like an unending chore. It’s filled with hope, excitement, and love.

My eyes grow heavy and it’s not long before I’m following Laurelle into a deep restful sleep.

LAURELLE

Golden sunlight streams into my eyes.

Shifting slightly, my muscles protest the movement. Despite the soreness of my muscles and between my legs, I’d gladly forgo my discomfort in order to relive last night a thousand times. All of it had been wonderful. A wonderful, wild dream.

No not a dream—a real-life fantasy.

The muscular arm draping across my waist tethers me to this bed and my body. A firm reminder that everything that’s happened since I stepped foot in this faerie realm is very real. My life began last night and every day will be just like these past two days. Perfect, magical, and filled with so much love it pours from me.

Emrys has done more than enough to earn my love. When he wakes I shall tell him.

Licking over my lips, I’m pleased to still have the taste of my king there. I want more of him. Forever will not be enough. He’s made good on his word and has freed me from my old life. Now instead of shame, all I feel is freedom flowing through me. Unbridled lust and desire dance in my blood and demand I give into it with Emrys.

I have to get a look at him.

Rolling onto my other side, I stare up at his handsome face. Relaxed in sleep, he looks younger. His chest moves with each deep breath. Taking my hand, I gently trace my finger over his cheeks and along his strong jaw.

He inhales sharply, and his dark eyes blink open. His hand captures mine against his chin and brings it to his lips. His mouth lays kisses along the pulse at my wrist before giving it a gentle bite. I sigh and shift closer to him.

“You made good on your word,” he grumbles. “We’ve been sleeping in here near a week.”

I gasp and pull back to look at him. His green lips curl into a smirk.

“In human time, of course. In the meadow, it’s only been a few hours.”

I smile and shake my head, delighting in the warmth of his naked skin against mine.

“Some beast ravaged me well into the morning. I was in dire need of my beauty sleep.”

“Some beast?” He raises a white brow.

I give a prim nod. In a flash, Emrys rolls me onto my back. His body slides between my splayed thighs. His hands circle my wrists and bring them above my head. The silk sheets and pillows cushion my body and bring me even closer to his.

“If I remember correctly, it was you—naughty girl—who begged this beast to fuck your ass.”

I gasp schooling my features into a picture of mock outrage.
