I didn’t deserve a mate.
I didn’t deserve a siren.
I didn’t deserveIzzy.
And yet I wanted her so violently, it was all I could do to keep breathing.
My emotions warred.
Lust and loss.
Possessiveness and guilt.
Devotion and self-hatred.
Her magic had given me the only light I’d seen in what felt like a lifetime, but it burned so badly that I wasn’t sure I’d be able to withstand it again the next time she needed to feed.
Evan’s mind brushed mine, and I reluctantly let him in. After so many years without a pack bond, the connection was a bitch.
But at the same time, it feltrightin a way I didn’t have words to describe.
“Hey, man. I ran into your female on her way to the lake, and I think I smelled Arthur’s scent in her hair. Not sure what’s going on, but you might want to look into it,”Evan said, his voice just as upbeat as always.
I skidded to a stop, growling,“Arthur Long?”
“Yeah. It’s probably nothing,”he added quickly.“A bunch of the pack was fawning over her in the cafeteria, so he probably just bumped into her or something.”
“I’ll handle it,”I snarled.
If my mate had Arthur Long’s scent in her hair, he was going to die.

Evan’s mapwas actually really easy to follow, so I texted my sisters back to give them a summary of the screwing, knotting, and being ditched that had happened the night before while I walked.
Their responses had me fighting a grin.

You would have to mate him to get the perks you’re looking for, and it doesn’t sound like Izzy recommends it
