“I’m just looking out for you, Corrie. I don’t want you to get hurt.” Raff answers curtly.
“We’re fine, leave us alone to work things out. He’s a good man, Rafferty, stop testing him. You’ll push him away and that will hurt me a damn sight more.”
“Okay, okay. I’ll back off. He does look good out there. I bet those thigh muscles are something else.” This time my brother has a smirk on his face and looks sideways at me.
“Fuck off, I’m not telling.” I go back to watching Griff as he slows down and enters the pit lane again. I witness him lift his visor and search for me, the smile on his face fills me with plans of what I want to do to him later. Today is definitely the day. As I push off the wall, I add a swagger to my steps as I watch him watching me. His eyes darken and his tongue slips over his bottom lip. Hell yeah, his ass is mine tonight.
“How was that? You looked so good, so confident.” I ask as he takes his lid off, my hands are shoved in my front pockets to stop me from dragging him off the bike and bending him over it. Shit! Now my dick twitches in my jeans, throbbing at the thought of sliding slowly inside him. Dammit! Stop thinking about it!
“Fucking awesome. Oh my God! I want this bike.” He smiles hard and I spy his hands spasm, as if he wants to touch me.
Right when I’m about to plant a kiss on his mouth, Ryan walks over, smiling. “Goddammit, Griff, you made that look so easy, I’m gonna need some lessons from you.” He claps his hand on my shoulder. “You ready for some company out there?”
“Sure, that would be great, let me talk to the mechanics and we can go.” Griff reaches out for my hand then, I step closer and take hold of it.
I can’t help it. I need to kiss him. Pressing my lips firmly against his, I kiss him once, twice, then speak against his lips, “You have no idea how fucking hot you looked out there. The thoughts running through my head right now are so damn dirty. You are gonna get so lucky tonight.”
I pull back and see Griff’s eyes widen as he swallows hard. “I think I’d like that.”
“Good. Now, talk to your guys and let me see your ass swaying on that machine again.” I step back and let him chat to the men. Nico talks to a man I don’t recognize and, seeing me, he waves me over. I look at Griff, who is in deep conversation with the tech guys, before I walk over.
“Hi, Corrie, I’d like to introduce you to Peter Swanson. He’s the man behind all these bikes today.” Nico steps aside as I accept his hand in greeting.
“Well, Mr. Swanson, you’ve made my boyfriend a very happy man today. Thank you for your generosity. I think you may have found yourself a new customer.” I chuckle.
“Oh, I’m sure we can find something for him, he handled it like the true professional he is. I’m just wondering if you know if he misses racing?”
His question catches me off guard and I think back to a week ago, when he spoke to his manager, but Griff hasn’t mentioned it again.
“I’m sure he does, especially when he gets an opportunity like this. I believe he feels betrayed by his team when he was wrongfully accused of a dreadful crime. I’m not sure if he would want the intrusion into his private life, or the potential judgement from his peers. That is a question you would have to ask him. My question to you is, why are you asking me this?” I try to be polite but there’s something going on that I don’t know about and this fishing for information is not my scene.
“Oh, I’m just curious about him, I have been watching his performance for many years now; he is a very interesting man. I will have to speak with him today.” Swanson smiles and Nico gives me a play-nice look.
“Well, it was very nice to meet you, I’d better get back to the fun.” I smile to them and quickly flee to the garage. Ryan and Raff are in leathers and look as eager and excited as Griff, Troy doesn’t seem to share their enthusiasm. I understand his feelings and walk to him rather than Griff, who is still deep in conversation with the others.
Troy looks up and smiles. “This is a bit of a change, isn’t it?” He surveys the area.
“Yeah, but you’ve made Griff very happy today so, thank you. Keep that husband of yours under control, please.” I joke but Troy knows I’m not kidding.
“I will, Corrie, I’m sorry.” He checks the bikes and sees they are ready to move off.
“Don’t you want to ride?”
Troy bursts out laughing, “No chance, you know I’ve brought the Ferrari here a few times, but two wheels? No way in hell. Have you ever ridden?”
“Yeah, back in training. Then, at the base before we shipped out, I had a bike, but now I wouldn’t think it’s a good idea with a tin leg. Griff has sworn he’s taking me out today and I’m not allowed to make any excuses.”
Troy laughs, “You should deny him sex, that works with Rafferty.”
My jaw drops and I fumble for the right words. “Yeah, well. We’re not there yet. So, I don’t think that would work.”
“Good for you, Corrie, this must be very strange for you. A man who has never shown any sign of homosexuality is now so very hooked on you. Because, he is hooked, Corrie. The way he looks at you and seeks you out first and foremost, I think he’s serious.”
“It’s taken me a week but I think you’re right, I just had to be sure because I really fucking like him, and I don’t want my heart to get broken. Because, if he changes his mind, I’m the one left alone and that would be tough.” Shit, I’m getting worked up and, as if Griff can sense my distress, he turns to look at me. One glance and he’s off the bike, striding towards me.
“Stop overthinking, Corrigan, I’m not going anywhere.” He pulls me against him, letting me tuck my head into his neck.
“How did you know? I know, I’m sorry.” I mumble. “I’m okay, I promise, I’m okay. Go, have fun, I’ll be here. I lo… Go, sweetheart, go burn rubber.”
