I pulled back. “Dad, act like you weren’t aware I was leaving when Collin sits down with you to talk,” I sniffled.

He grumbled. “I’ll give him an ear full. Stealing my daughter.”

I leaned up on my tippy toes and pecked his cheek. “Going to work on the books.”

“All right.”

I sauntered into our office through the wood panel weathered hall. My father was a self-made man. He rounded out a little around the middle, but could still give tourists the best travel experience they ever had in their lives. Not seeing my father every day would crush my heart. Guess I’d have to call him on Facetime. Collin was right; it was definitely time for some me time.

“Hi ladies.” I threw my hands in the air as I approached our usual table in the middle of the bar.

Michelle and Chrissy’s jaws slacked.

I leaned over and hugged them both, respectively.

“Why are you in such a good mood?” Chrissy gave me a what the hell girl look.

Michelle is the total opposite. She wore the biggest inspector gadget grin. “Fill us in, bitch. I think you’ve been holding out. We haven’t seen you since the day your client Collin arrived.”

Shelly approached the table and took our orders. The second she stepped away, I peeked between my girls.

“Collin is definitely a pleaser.” I gripped my bottom lip between my teeth and looked up at the ceiling.

Chrissy gasped. “Did you give him your V-card?”

“No, he said he wants to wait.”

Michelle pointed at Chrissy. “Ah, ha, I told you he wasn’t a douche.”

Chrissy waved her off. “Please, he’ll probably wait until the last day and pull a snatch and grab.”

She was right. Collin could change his mind at the last minute and bed me down right before he left town.

“Here are your drinks ladies,” Shelly stated, placing them before us.

Thank you fell around the table.

“No problem. Kara, do you know if Eric will be here tonight?”

“Shelly, probably.”

She grinned. “Is it all right if I date him?”

“Yes, go ahead. He and I are just friends.”

She gushed. “Great! I’ll return with your wings shortly.”

I nodded before she disappeared.

“Are you really letting Eric go?”

“Chrissy, he needs to move on. Even if things don’t work out with Collin and me, I can’t hold Eric back. It’s not fair.”

“Kara, you can’t help who you are. You have an infectious personality. Which is exactly why Collin fell for you.”

I grabbed her hand. “Thanks, Michelle.”
