Page 27 of Worth the Risk

“Ready to continue? I won’t add extras for squirming since this is your first time. That means you only have two more to go.”

For a moment, she hesitated. Extras sounded interesting. Ten over her jeans didn’t seem enough to make a fair evaluation. Did she dare ask for more or deliberately disobey? She chickened out of doing either and nodded, adding quickly aloud, “I’m ready, sir.”

“You remembered. Very good,” he crooned, introducing a kneading massage with the rubbing.

She pressed her thighs together as a rush of liquid longing flooded her pussy. Why did his approval make her hot, when, from anyone else, it would seem patronizing and be most unwelcome?

Dan’s hand fell twice more, harder and faster than the eight that preceded them. Then it was over.

Bella lay vibrating over his lap, heart racing, bottom tingling, and clit pulsing. Her mind reeled as she tried to figure out why she’d enjoyed it so much. Could she actually be submissive, like Dan, Ben, Sean, Anne at the employment agency, and even Hannah had assumed?

Dan helped her stand. Still seated, he pulled her into the V of his thighs, wrapped an arm around her waist and with a hand spread over her just-punished bottom, rocked her a little as he held her close.

“You did so well for your first time, sweetheart,” he murmured. “Better than some seasoned submissives when they’re being punished.”

Bella felt tears sting her eyes. It seemed unreal, and completely confounding, that she could feel...cherished by the man who had just spanked her butt. This was going to take some sorting out. In the meantime, he no doubt expected a response.

“Thank you, sir,” she whispered back.

Dan’s head fell back, his eyes warm, looking more gray than blue, as he grinned up at her. “You’re welcome, beautiful. But I feel the need to point out that thanking me for spanking you is something a submissive would do.”

Her protest came automatically. “But I’m not—”

“This was merely lesson number one, Bella. Don’t be so sure just yet.”

His arm tightened around her as his fingers flexed and squeezed her still tingly backside before he also stood. What he did next surprised her. After lowering his head and brushing his lips over hers in a gentle kiss, he took it no further.

“Now then, about lunch. That deli roast beef, pepper jack cheese, and sourdough bread are calling my name.”

The sudden change of gears took her aback, but as he tugged her along behind him to her new kitchen, as if he hadn’t just smacked her bottom ten times for fibbing, a warmth spread through her and she couldn’t help but smile.

Chapter 7

BELLA HAD ONE DRESSto her name, and Dan had already seen it yesterday when he took her to brunch. The quaint little mom-and-pop restaurant had outdoor seating under a huge awning which was comfortable early in the day. The food was great, and the company was even better. But it was busy and not ideal for conversation, so they kept it light. He would eventually press for personal information, but later or never suited her just fine. Afterward, they parted ways because he had a commitment. He didn’t go into detail, but he couldn’t get out of it.

She had a pressing engagement, too...laundry. And a trip to a thrift store because she couldn’t go to dinner with him in the same dress or in one of her two pairs of jeans.
