But he rose to his feet, pressed his fully clothed body against her near nakedness, and kissed her deeply. As they parted, he gazed into her eyes and whispered his admiration, “You were amazing, baby. Just as I knew you would be.”

Once he released her, too weak at the knees to stand on her own, he scooped her up and carried her from the platform. He found an aftercare couch away from the busy traffic of the circuit and held her in his lap. Dan wrapped her in one of the warm sub blankets that seemed to be everywhere and held a bottle of water he magically produced from nowhere to her lips.

“Drink,” he urged.

She took a small sip, feeling the cool water slide down her throat.

“At least half,” he insisted, as he pressed the plastic bottle into her hand.

Dutifully, she drank more then leaned back against him, his warmth and strength surrounding her. Bella smiled, feeling a sense of wonder at the new world he’d opened up for her. “I had no idea. Thank you for showing me.”

“It was my pleasure, believe me,” he replied with his lips against her temple.

“I was rather loud, I’m afraid. Did we draw a crowd? I never noticed.”

He chuckled, his arms tightening around her. “That you didn’t notice, so focused on your dom and what he was doing to your luscious body, pleases me even more.”

She breathed deep and let it out slowly with a deep sigh. “I get why they call you a sensual sadist. As another sub told me,it hurt so good.”

“We’ve only just begun, beautiful. I have many more surprises in store for you.”

Chapter 14

IT WAS HER THIRD LBDWednesday, but she paid the decked out, glittered-up, spritzed, taped, and otherwise put-together laughing, singing, and shouting-to-be-heard-over-the-band participants no heed. Instead, she rushed toward the rear of the lounge. It was her thirty-minute meal break, and she had only one thing on her mind.

Near the door to the service hall, which was quiet and would give her a few minutes of peace alone with Dan, she pulled her phone out of her back pocket. Her thumbs flew over the screen.

Bella:I’m working with Lisa tonight. She was late getting back from break, but I’m heading your way now.

She sent it right as Lisa, who was rather scatterbrained and habitually tardy for everything, exited the garnish station without looking. Bella skidded to a halt, barely avoiding a reenactment of Dan’s margarita shower from the night they met. The green slush sloshed back and forth as the salt-rimmed glasses clinked together, but Lisa managed to balance the tray without spilling a drop.

“That was a close one,” the slender blonde called then continued on her way toward the table up front by the stage.

With the crisis barely averted, Bella hit the swinging door marked authorized employees only. Right inside, she took a moment to let her eyes adjust to the brightness. When she looked down the long hall, she smiled, seeing Dan waiting, his posture relaxed, leaning against the wall, arms crossed, one ankle over the other.

Feeling like it had been a year rather than hours since she’d seen him, Bella started forward. He stood up and faced her, but as she picked up speed, she saw him tense and spread his feet as though bracing for impact. A good thing, too, because she may have gone airborne just a tiny bit when she threw herself into his arms.
