Page 9 of Trick or Treat

“What’s with hickey on your neck?” Trick smirked at the purple bruise his friend was doing nothing to hide.

“Oh. That.” He rubbed at the mark. “I guess Calliope and I got a little overzealous with our celebrating when she told me she’s pregnant.”

“What?!” Trick pulled him in for a man hug and slapped him on the back. “Congratulations!’ He stepped back and took him in. “I can see you’re excited. How’s she doing? Feeling okay?”

“Yeah. She’s doing good so far.” He half turned and shook his head, his gaze zeroing in on the woman who’d made all his dreams come true. “Never thought I’d have this with her, you know?”

“Yeah, I know. Happy as fuck you do, though.” Given the two’s history, it was a miracle they’d made it this far. Trick was thrilled for his best friend.

“When do you see the new lawyer?” Jackson winked at his wife then turned back to face Tuck.

“I see him Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. Said he was fitting me in before court that day.” Trick finished off his beer and waved for another one. He couldn’t wait to see if this guy could finally help him get custody of his kids. If something didn’t give soon, he was going to lose his ever-loving mind.

“Where’d you get this guy’s name?” Jackson leaned into his folded arms on the bar.

“My sister-in-law Bridgette got it from one of the women she works with. Her husband was jacking her around with child support, threatening to take the kids away from her just because he had the money to do it and said he’d ruin her life if she didn’t bow out of the kids’ lives gracefully.”

Jackson’s face scrunched up in disgust. “Seriously?”

“Yeah,” Trick replied with equal distaste.

“So how did it work out for her? Is it over yet?” Jackson took a drink.

“Yeah. It’s over. She got custody of the kids and the asshole only gets to see them every other weekend at his mom’s house. The attorney had an investigator do some digging and found out the man had some DUIs and in two instances, the kids had been with him. Oh, and he’d been caught with drugs in his trunk during one of those times he’d been pulled over.” Trick turned to face the room, his eyes automatically scanning the sea of faces for someone to fuck.

“Good deal. Sounds a lot like your case. Hopefully, he can work some magic for you, too.” Jackson only had eyes for his wife. Time and time again Trick watched his friend seek her out. Almost like he couldn’t believe she was real.

Although he was happy for his friend, Trick didn’t see himself ever getting tied down to one woman anytime in the near future or possibly at all. He had his kids as permanent fixtures in his life and that’s all he needed. Quick fucks with no attachments suited him just fine for now.

He grinned seeing Calliope and her friend, Bellamy, having a good time over on one of the couches. They were laughing up a storm at something funny Bellamy had said. Then something weird happened. Bellamy’s face went completely blank, devoid of any emotion. He searched to see the cause and found Cami wrapping an arm around Race’s waist and whispering something in his ear. He gave her a hungry kiss and groped her ass, not ten feet from where Bellamy was sitting. Trick recognized that look on his president’s face. He was going to be fucking Cami before the night was through. His guess, it would take less than an hour and the two of them would be finding somewhere to fuck.

Cami reached out and pulled the stunning auburn-haired woman closer and introduced her to Race. They talked for a minute, then she, Cami and Race all made their way to the door leading out back. Trick’s gaze turned back to Bellamy and wondered what that was all about. Did she have a thing for Race? Had he fucked her? Had he pissed her off somehow? He had no idea. He had enough on his plate to deal with. Worrying about his president’s sex life wasn’t his concern.

As the trio walked off, it didn’t stop him from noticing that Cami’s friend was five and a half feet tall and a little on the slim side. As she walked away he was pleased to see her short, tight dress fit over her generous, firm ass. Niiice.

Facing Jackson once again, he said, “Guess what I found out from Keeg on our way from your place last night?”

“What?”

“I asked him if his mom fed them before she took off with Patty and he said she ordered pizza. She waited for it to be delivered before she took off. Told them to lock the doors and not answer it if someone came to the door. He said later that night Reagan was hungry again, so he made her a hotdog in the microwave.” Trick clenched his teeth. “Fucking pisses me off. It’s like my kids are dogs and she’s just throwing them food to get them out of her hair so she can go out.”

“Fuck, I’m sorry, man.”

Trick rubbed a hand down his face. “I know. Swear to God if things don’t change, I’m taking my kids and disappearing.”

“I hate to hear that. I’ll be there for you in anything you need. The club, too.” Jackson took a drink. “Just go to your appointment with the new attorney and feel him out, then go from there.”

“Yeah, that’s what I was thinking, too.” His gaze went back to the party going on around them. “Hey, does Calliope know about Cami?”

“No. She said she doesn’t want to know about anyone else I’ve been with because she’d feel the urge to want to punch them in the throat. Finding out I had Ryker with Zoey almost made me lose her before I really had her. I’m not chancing it happening again.”

Trick looked to his friend. “You know the sweet butts talk, right? How are you going to keep her from overhearing? Or from Bellamy overhearing and telling Calliope?”

Jackson frowned at him. “The only one I honestly think would cause her to be upset would be Cami and I know she won’t say anything. Hopefully, Calliope will get the chance to get to know her better before it comes out. Right now, she really likes her. I’d hate for that to change.”

Trick took another drink, his mind still on the auburn-haired woman with the nice ass.

“You thinking about hooking up with Cami tonight?”
