“All I need to find out is who this fucking asshole is working for.” The phone starts to ring again as I redial it.

Vito is following behind as I walk past each of the men to the trucks they had brought. A faint ring goes off in one of the trucks. Vito and I lock gazes.

“Move away from the line if you didn’t come in this truck,” Vito orders the men.

Five of them move away, leaving five more.

“Come out now and get the chance to live,” I warn.

None of them speak as they glare at one another.

“Fine. Give me your gun.”

Vito hands me his gun.

“I’ll shoot every one of you if I have to.”

I point the gun to the back of the head of the guy in the middle. As I place my finger on the trigger, the last man on the left-hand side dashes hurriedly in the direction of the other truck.

“Son of a-” Vito runs after him as I take a clean shot and shoot him on his leg.

He falls to the ground, groaning as he still tries to escape, crawling on the ground.

Vito catches up with him and sends his face to the ground with a hard punch.

I move closer to see his face. He has a cross tattoo up the left side of his head. His dark brown hair is in a buzz cut. I’ll teach the others not to fucking mess with me, making them watch as I make him regret double-crossing me.

“Bastardo!” I growl as I kick him in the face.

He coughs out blood, his face stained with dust.

“Who do you fucking work for?”

I have a fucking mole! No wonder it seems like someone was always one step ahead. The question is who.

He stays quiet on the ground, breathing heavily.

“Fucking answer me.”

He yells in pain as I shoot his second leg.

“Tell me.”

“It’s Mateo. Please don’t kill me,” he begs.

That fucking cunt.

“Fuck you!”

I punch him in the head hard and he falls to the ground unconscious.

“I’ll fucking kill any of you who try to double-cross me.” I hand the gun back over to Vito. Some of the men shuffle their feet uncomfortably while others look ahead with hardened faces.

“I’ll fucking kill thatfiglio di puttana.”
