“That means he has less control of shipments through the northern border since Martino controls it,” Giovanni answers.

“I hear he has a shipment coming in today through that border,” Bianca says.

“So we steal it and make it look like Martino’s men did it. They’d break up immediately,” I retort.

“We’ll have Martino on our side again,” Bianca blurts.

I know better than to trust that cunt again if we ever do business together. Still, he would definitely come in handy to smoothen our shipments into the city. His restaurant is a perfect cover to hide his illegal dealings. I need more players if I want to take this city back. Everyone I can get, even if I have to sit with the devils.

My father did that to get more power. I’ll do the same as long as I get what I want.

“It’s all a game after all.”

“If we win back Martino, we will have Moretti and Russo in no time. We just have to break them all up.”

“Less men on his side gives us a fair fight against him to save my sister and niece,” Giovanni adds. He swipes the sleeve of his blue shirt over his nose to clean some blood seeping out.

I think I broke his nose. He fucking deserved that. My jaw still hurts from his punches.

Bianca’s phone starts to ring in her bag. She takes it out hurriedly and her demeanor changes as she looks at her phone, cutting the call off immediately.

“I don’t need your fucking help to save them,” I retort.

“They are my family!”

“That is my daughter you all kept away from me. This would have never happened if she was with me.”

“You’re-”

“Stop it already! That’s enough. Fighting each other won’t save anyone and who fucking knows what Gianna is going through right now.”

Giovanni and I keep mute, glaring at each other for a moment.

“Stop acting like kids and let’s get her out of there together.”

“I can have my men ready for the steal tonight,” I say.

“We have to be−” Bianca’s phone goes off again, ringing out loud.

I can tell she’s scared as her fingers tremble holding her phone.

“I’m sorry, I should switch this off.”

“What’s wrong, Bianca?” I ask, concerned.

She shakes her head in response, her fingers still trembling as she holds her phone.

I move closer to her and grab her arm, making her stare back at me. “Spill it, Bianca.” My voice is firm now. I need to know if something is fucking wrong or if my sister’s in danger.

“I-I,” she stammers as she turns her face away from me. “I messed with the wrong people, Luca, and they are after me now.”

Fuck.

“Who is it, Bianca?”

“It’s one of Mateo’s men. He knows I’m your sister.” She turns back to stare at me, her eyes teary already.

Fucking Christ.
