Two Years Later

I’m walking out of the warehouse with my fingers in my pocket, waiting for Gianna by my car.

She heads the marketing section of our new business venture, the old bar, Velvet Spirits. It holds a lot of memories for us as we used to meet there before we snuck back to my old house. She’s always been passionate about marketing, so it’s no surprise how easy it was for her to settle into business. Since she has taken over, the business has grown; its success is owed to her smart ass.

“Why are you staring at me?” Gianna asks, as she walks out the front door. Her curves are boldly visible in her fitted purple dress. She has her sleek hair flowing down her shoulders.

“You’re so fucking beautiful.”

A smile spreads on her lips as she closes the distance between us. I open the door to her seat. “I’ve been thinking of ways to rip this dress off you and make love to you,” I whisper, as she pauses to slip into the car, with a wink.

“Luca!” she blushes.

“What? Can’t I talk about making love to the woman I’m in love with?”

I shut the door gently and walk to the driver’s seat.

“Giovanni’s at the house,” Gianna says.

I grunt in a low tone while I start the car.

Gianna had called to have me pick her up from the warehouse on my way home from my meeting with Marcus.

It took a while to get here with her after the pain I had caused her and her family. I had to prove myself every day to show her how much I still loved her and how I was willing to change. I would have done anything to have her back. Anything.

It was fucking worth it all, the waiting till she was ready and showing up for my daughter. I could never let go of my family that easily and she knew it. I’ll never let go now that we’re all together.

And Giovanni… he’s finally back to being my brother again. I didn’t know how much I missed him as a friend. I’m so fucking glad he eventually saw me as a changed man after the whole truth came to light.

Yet all I want desperately right now is to take off her dress and make love to my woman—not talk about business with her brother.

“He always comes around at the wrong time.” I put the car in drive, heading straight to my house.

Gianna finally agreed to live with me a year ago. I have plans on making her my wife soon enough. This is everything I ever wanted before the whole mess—to have a family with her. Getting her to be mine alone.

“How are things at the new warehouse?”

“Sterling handles things perfectly. I didn’t have to do much.”

This is the third warehouse we are opening in the city. Business has been great without the wars and constant shipment hijacks.

Russo and Moretti have finally returned to business with me. As repayment for double-crossing me, I made both of them accept a lower price of coke to supply me. Stupid assholes. How could they ever think a Caruso could stop me, a De Santi?

I’ve expanded my business overseas with the help of Gianna and Marcus. I had Vito go watch over things there, as I trusthim to keep my business safe. It’s no coincidence Bianca had announced her travels a week after leaving New York City again.

I already knew she would be going with Vito. They’ve been inseparable since I caught them. My mind is at peace because I know she’s in safe hands—hands I can chop off if things get ugly.

Gianna moves uneasy in her seat as she opens her purse. I can tell something is wrong from the look on her face. Her expressions always give her away quickly.

“Is everything alright?”

I honk the horn and the gates open with two of my guards on either side.

“Yeah… yes. Everything’s fine.” Gianna forces a smile while staring at me. She opens the door and gets out of the car as I pull it to a stop.

“We’ll get back to this,” I say, as I slip out of the car and walk beside Gianna into the house.

Giovanni is seated by the bar with Sophie. Sophie jumps in his lap with a smile spread across her face as Gianna walks to her.
