With a gentle nod, my eyes scan the room. “Gentlemen.”

Bianca’s eyes widen as she takes in the scene. “Who are all these people?” she whispers, tugging on my arm.

Ignoring her, my focus is on the men in front of me. “Let’s get down to why we’re here. We’ve got a lot on our plate.”

“Luca, my boy,” the old man says again, his voice low and gravelly, as he approaches me. He wraps his hands around mine, his grip firm. “I’m so sorry about your parents. Their deaths won’t go unpunished.”

With a smile, my eyes glint with determination. “That’s why I’m here—revenge!”

The man nods, his eyes gleaming with approval. “We’ll get through this together, Luca. We’ll make sure those responsible pay.”

I turn to Bianca, my voice cold. “Bianca, go with Vito. He’ll show you your room. Sterling will be joining us soon.”

Bianca’s eyes widen, her face pale. “But Luca, I-”

My voice is firm and loud, I cut Bianca off before she gets to complete her sentence. There are more important things to take care of now. “Now, Bianca. I have a plan to hatch.”

Vito steps forward, his eyes sympathetic. “Come on, Bianca. I’ll get you settled in.”

Bianca hesitates, then nods and follows Vito out of the room.

“Alright, gentlemen,” I say, my voice commanding.

“Let’s get acquainted. Everyone introduce yourselves so the table knows who you are.”

The first man, the same old man, burly with a thick beard, steps forward. “I’m Victor Conti, head of the Conti family. We control the docks and the shipping lanes.”

With a nod, my eyes lock on his. “Victor. Good to meet you.”

Next, a lean, dark-haired man speaks up. “I’m Marco Rossi, head of the Rossi family. We run the streets, the drugs, and the guns.”

My face curves into a smile, my eyes glinting with approval. “Marco. I’ve heard great things about your... entrepreneurial spirit.”

The introductions continue, each man revealing their name and their family’s specialty. There’s Carlos Morales, the king of weapons and arms; and finally, the last man, a towering giant with a scar across his cheek.

“I’m Sebastian Barnett, head of the Barnett family. We handle the finances, the money laundering, and the dirty work.”

I nod, my eyes locked on his. “Sebastian. I’ve heard you’re a man who gets things done.”

A cloud of smoke forms in the air as I release it after I take a deep drag on my cigar. The smoke curls around my face. “Gentlemen, I’m glad we’re all on the same page.”

“My name is Luca De Santi, son of Salvatore De Santi and heir to the De Santi’s empire.”

“It’s not news anymore about the cause of my parents’ death. Although, that won’t go unpunished. We’ll work together, as a team, to take down our enemies and build up our empire.”

The room falls silent, and the men’s eyes fix on me with a mix of respect and fear. I know I’ve made my point. I am the new boss, and I will make sure they get the message when I say I don’t want to be messed with.

“Come in!” I yell, my voice echoing off the walls. I was already expecting this moment.

One of my men pushes in a battered and bruised figure, blindfolded and tied up. The man stumbles and falls to the ground, whimpering in pain.

“Ah, meet our guest.” With a kick to the abdomen, he groans, curling into a ball.

“This piece of trash embezzled some of my father’s money, thinking he could get away with it after his death.” I cough out a laugh, pausing for a second. “He tried to run to Manhattan, but Dino had uncovered his plans and caught up with him.”

The men in the room watch with impassive faces, their eyes cold and unyielding. My eyes flicker to Dino’s and he nods a greeting.

“You see, gentlemen,” I continue, my voice dripping with menace. “This is what happens when you try to cross the De Santi family. You get caught, you get punished, and you get made an example of.”
