Why did it have to feel so damn good though?
Just as I’m about to turn the corner, a hand wraps around my wrist. The door I’d been passing opens, and I’m ushered inside quickly before it closes firmly behind us, throwing us into darkness.
“What the—” I try to get my hand out of the steel grip, but it’s useless. The hold is too strong.
I’m pushed against the wall, both of my hands pressed up by my head against the hard surface.
“Not so quickly, Princess,” he whispers against my ear, his warm breath sending goosebumps down my skin as the smell of pines and wood surrounds me. “I think we have some unresolved business.”
“Kidnapping will not get you what you want, Hill,” I spat, trying to get out of his hold, but no matter what I do or how hard I try to resist him, I can’t get him off of me.
“Tsk…” Andrew shakes his head playfully, his nose rubbing against my exposed neck. “Such harsh words. I’m simplyborrowingyou for a bit. You’re a hard person to track these days, Jeanette.”
“Maybe that’s because I don’t want to be found. Ever thought of that?”
Andrew lifts his gaze, his green eyes easily finding mine even in the dark classroom. “It didn’t cross my mind.”
His fingers brush against a strand of my hair, pushing it behind my ear. “I like what you did with your hair.”
I shudder at his touch; my eyes fall closed for a second as I bite into my lip to stop myself from saying anything.
Stop myself from uttering a sound.
“Eyes on me, Princess.”
These words. These damn words throw me back to that night.
The night I try to forget with everything I have in me.
The night I keep dreaming about night after night.
Eyes on me, Princess.
They snap me back into reality. My eyes shoot open, throwing daggers at him.
“You need to leave me alone.”
I can’t do this. Not again.
“Or what?” He quirks his brow in question.
Such a daring gesture. It irritates me to the point of no return. I grit my teeth, angry at him and at myself. How does he do it? Getting the better of me, making me feel all these things? Irritating little shit.
I struggle against his hold on me, but he keeps strong. His grip lethal, unmoving. So much bigger, so much stronger than me.
Yet, I’m not afraid. Only pissed off.
“C’mon. Show me.” He taunts me, his grin growing bigger.
I push and I pull, doing my best to get out of this. To get free of him. I struggle and struggle as he watches me, laughing in my face, but then the hold on my wrists loosens. Surprised, I gasp loudly and fall forward.
His green eyes widen in surprise as I trip over my feet, losing balance. I expect to fall. I expect to stumble into him and throw us both to the floor in a mess of the intertwined limbs, but I’m wrong.
Because Andrew is there. Hard and steady, his arms curl around me as my body connects with his.
My legs wrap around him, a silent shriek leaves my lips as he sways on his feet but somehow manages to regain his balance, and then I’m back where I started. My back pressed against the wall, only this time … this time my legs are wrapped around him tightly, cradling him into my center and holding him close.
He breathes hard, chuckling. “If you wanted to get into my arms, Princess, all you had to do was ask.”
