He blows out a long breath. “I’m hundreds of miles away from that shit for a reason. I’ll be alright.”

It kills me to know he’s messed up over this. But I can’t say as I blame him. If Olivia was marrying some other guy, I’d be on another freaking planet to get away from it if it was possible.

“As long as she’s happy and he’s not a fucker, I’m good with it. Or I will be,” he admits.

“Does she know?”

“What do you think? If my sister knew I had a thing for her best friend, would Lily be marrying some other guy?”

“Haha you’re right. But that’s not who I meant.”

“I gotta get back to it.”

“I’ll take that as a no. Can’t complain if you never threw your hat in the ring.” Pretty sure I’m giving myself advice right now.

“Enlightening conversation.”

“Sure is.”

“Maybe you should be telling yourself that.”

I sigh. “Yeah. Probably. See you soon.”

“Counting on it.”

I check in with Rex quickly before I leave and head out to my pickup. Go home, shower, change, and make my way to the church. After talking with Owen, I’m feeling unsettled and need to see Olivia. To feel the peace just having her near me brings.

I’m greeted as soon as I’m inside the church building and I’m pointed in the direction of the sanctuary. I look to the left and my heart stops.

Liv’s walking toward me in a dark blue dress that had to be made specifically for her for how perfectly it fits her. Fitted down to her waist where it poofs out around her hips and stops just above her knees. Spiked heels add a good four inches to my gorgeous short stuff. She sees me and her eyes light up. Her feet move quicker as she makes her way toward me. Her eyes widen when her heel catches on something and she springs forward, quickly catching her balance again. I cover my mouth, about to jet over to save her but she stands straight and looks around.

Liv points to the ground and presses her lips together to stop from laughing but I don’t even try to hold back the chuckle that escapes me.

As soon as she’s standing next to me, I twirl a finger in the air and she dutifully spins in a circle. The back is nearly open with just a few criss crosses of dark blue fabric covering her milky skin. But her hair. A braid and curls and oh holy shit it’s going to be nearly impossible to not get hard during the ceremony while staring at her the entire time. Because there’s no way my eyes will stray from her. Pretty… No. Gorgeous.Breathtaking.

“You like?”

“Nope. I fu…” I swallow down the curse word, look around and gripping her waist, walking her backwards into an alcove. “I freaking love it. Holy…” I scrub a hand over my mouth, wanting so badly to take her in my arms, bend her over, and do a whole lot of things that would probably bring lightning upon me if I acted on them in a church. “A word to describe how beautiful you look right now hasn’t even been invented yet.”

She doesn’t even blush at my words, just wraps her arms tight around me and leans in, closes her eyes, presses her lips against mine. Mouths part. Tongues explore. Hands roam. I’m sure I’ll walk out of here with red lipstick on my lips and a tent in my dress pants but right now, with Olivia in my arms I don’t care.

I press her against the wall and she lifts a leg to wrap around one of mine. She rips her mouth from mine, breathing heavy. “I’ve never seen you in a suit.”

“I take it you like it?”

“Little bit.”

“What would you think of skipping this whole day and heading back home?” I tease. Kind of.

She moans, leaning into me. “Don’t tempt me.”

Behind us, the noise of the guests increases, bringing us back to reality and where we are.

“Let me just…” her thumb swipes across my lips, a mischievous smile in place. “Had a little hot passion on your face.”

I sputter out a laugh, “Pardon me?”

She taps her lips and I kiss her because… duh. Why else would she be talking about hot passion and then having me look at her lips?
